How much for a Helmet paintjob?

If you do painting commissions, how much do you (The painter) charge? weighing my options before i seek out a commission. I need an exact estimate. Does it include assembling the ear pieces and cutting out/visor installation? I plan on picking up a asok CC lid.

Thanks, Adam

Well, for me its ROTJ $400 ESB $450 thats including what you asked about there. Nothing more then that...and the hardware and such needed to asseble the ears to the helmet. And RF

So F4R, you do the prep, paint and assemble (including the visor)? How long is your backlog?

ATM, I have RKD's commission in hand...a few other feelers, but nothing else in stone right now. Just revived my Facebook check it out. Search for fett4real's workshop. :)

Which in my opinion is a smoking deal for a layered job and the quality of F4R's craftsmanship. The amount of work on these things is pretty intensive. Worth every penny and more.

I'm one of the few people that don't have a Facebook account. I may need a set of armor done if my bobamaker kit doesn't fit my frame correctly.

I'm going to go with FP, I've been in contact with Chris and he knows the situation. Nothing against RKD, his stuff looks great. If Chris's backlog is jammed, then I will get the RKD set.

F4R, send me a PM with your prices for doing a set of armor.

Ive been told that you should only pay a small down payment for a paint commission, and the rest after the commission is done. Is that correct? I've heard of painters asking for extra for paints, etc. Isnt having the paints the painters responsibility?

I will chime in if that is ok. Usually I ask for at least half up front and the rest when it is done. The price I charge includes material charges (paints brushes etc) I factor all that into the price I am charging. If someone breaks it all down for you then that is up to them.

Every painter is different....the last 2 commission projects that I did with Spideyfett we required half up front and the rest upon completion.

RKD makes a GREAT set of armor. PM him if the bobamaker doesn't fit.
Thanks for that Rich!
I've actually only commissioned F4R for the very first time of ever having anything painted by anyone. I personally can't stand painting (after painting my armor twice) and I just don't have the patience for it (which is strange I know cause I have the patience to sculpt lol) so I really don't mind paying for the extra service. Plus F4R's service has been second to none. Constant updates and communication. I know the man knows his stuff and is a stickler for details...exactly who I want painting it. That's not to say that there aren't lots of other fantastic painters on here. Deadland and Spideyfett come to mind. I just don't know who's got commissions going and who doesn't (or if they are even taking commissions), you'll just have to ask around ;)
