Hobbits ESB Bobamaker Paint Up!! :D

Thanks guys, as always everyone is super generous with the comments! :) I have some pics to show, still got a lot of topical work and ears to do, lots of touch ups and fix ups, no where near finished, but looking a little bit more completed. This was definitely the highlight painting the red on the mandibles. It really brings it all together. So glad I did it in this order, it was like unwrapping a christmas present taking all the tape and paper off. Hope you enjoy the pics! Thanks for looking! :)
First the purple or Humbrol Wine (73) and Blue (104) mixed 1:1.

Awesome job on the helmet! I see what you mean by missing or unfinished weathering, so I won't comment the lack of the silver color on the back and front left sides of the helmet. Keep up the great work!

Thanks guys!Hey J.. that wine is awesome! I was a bit unsure until I pulled all the tape and masking off... but it looks awesome, but not as red as in the pics. Hey Raf, your absolutely right and was a bit hesitant to post these pics but I thought people might like to see it before it gets a paint brush on it. I was a little shocked to see I missed some bits but hey, I prefer touch ups to masking thats for sure!! Haha! Not much more masking to go, but have to re address my back panels again as the green seems to have not stuck very well... and has peeled off in spots with masking. Oh well, I am still happy with it so far, and am busy touching up... and am impressed with the difference already! Thanks again everyone! :)

Hey peeps, well if you read my other post today on the weather here in Oz, you'll understand I had a bit of time on my hands so as it was insanely hot and impossible to do anything outside... I cranked the air-con and did some touch ups on my helmet... Not a great deal, but did a lot of silver that was missing and reduced a lot of the other colours in those areas. I think it's a lot better, I still have some red to touch up and a bit of grey. This is mainly on the the mandibles and trim. Let me know if you notice the difference if there is something way off, or any critics you can see.. Thanks my friends. Enjoy! :)

It looks way better with the corrected areas and I know that there are lots of other small areas that still needs to be added and/or removed, but the general impression of the helmet is great. There's no way to do some repair work of the back plates? After all the color matching and repainting of those parts... It looks really good, and it would be too bad if you had to redo those steps again.

Keep up the great work! Stay safe and positive!

Excellent paint job. I am trying this myself and it requires tons of patience that I don't have. I am happy if I am reasonably close. Your work looks dead-on.

Thanks Raf, that means a lot to me mate! :) Your right about the touch ups, still got to add bits and reduce bits... Up close the touch up paint finish is not as nice as the airbrushed finish... when I give it a buff with steel wool, will that smooth it out a bit? I am hoping so, it's not bad but I want it a bit nicer. Not sure how to repair the back panels as the beige is a misted colour and so is the blue/green. I was thinking of mixing my own beige and touching that up, and masking everything else out and misting black over the tape damaged blue/green.... If you follow me? ;) Thanks my friend :)
