Here we go again, my new MSH2 paint job,(update 30/6/04)
I got this awesome MSH2 the other day, and I´ve been painting it for the last day´s here is where I´m at
Here are the pics. Next to do is the topical painting silver and etc. I used Polly scale from the bottle but mmixed the back colors my self with a little help from Steve the Swede.
I masked the back with liquid latex and painted the blue over.
I also added a little Red to the boxcar red as I found it to be a bit to brown.

More detail added just wanted to show you. I took some days off from the helmet. I moved to the left side of the helmet and soon I will start on the dome. When that is finished I will have to go over the helmet again and add smaller details. Hope it will be finished before september 20th.

Just added some small details here and there, I´m prepering the next move.

I´ve moved to the front of the helmet and started working there as you can see I´ve managed to add some signature scratches and I have some detailing to add to the mandables andthe scartch beside the ear.

I just finsihed weathering the right backside of the helmet. I used pastels for the weathering and blast mark and used an Xacto knife for the scratches. For the yellow smudges I used UP armor yellow and wiped a bit of with a towel or my finger.

Did you download the ones from TK409's website? Those are the ones I used.

Looking good! Though, I think the back "scratch" color is way too yellow. The lights at AOSW appeared to be yellow halogen lamps, and I think the color of those scratches gets distorted in photos where the lights are directly hitting the back of the helmet.

It is acctualy much darker the flash brightens it up, It got even more darker after the wash I did.

I love the keyslots of the MSH. They're better shaped than the ones of the MH. Nice job!

I assume you're doing it all topical? That's alot of inspiration for me. I can't wait to get started painting mine.
What types of brushes are you using for the scratches? And are you using airbrushes for the major areas?

I noticed you have what look like screws on the inside of the visor area, I was planing on using a technique of countersunk screws through the helmet then bondoing over them from the outside, then ataching the visor onto the screws and using nuts to tighten it up, is this what your planning? Oh lord i've confused myself ha ha. Looks great by the way

I decided to use screws just the other day and than I already had painted the mandable so there was no way that I was gonna screw them in like you said, I new that would be a good idea but I was not ready to begin all over again with the painting.
So I just made a small groove inside the helmet and used a 2 part epoxy and glued the screws in place and let dry for many moons.
So now I can take the visor out whenever I want to just remove the nuts no problem.
