Hey bro, welcome to the board first off.

Im more of a Jango kind of guy, but Im sure the prep process is just the same with any new raw cast helmet. Some things you'll need:

-Dremel rotory tool w/ cutting disk

-sanding files, various sizes, but always good to have very small and thin ones, especially for the back keyslots.

-Sand paper of various grits, probably have some rough, around 80-120 gri, then for finishing it up, hit it up with a really high grit, such as 600, to make it really smooth to help for painting.

Thats for cleaning up the raw helmet. Attaching the ears and whatnot is more of a personal preference most of the time, but I myself use Goop to hold them on.

After that, it's a matter of painting, which I have almost no idea when it comes to boba lol

Good luck!

-Chris

Basically what Chris said... trim and prep first.
Then when your ready come back and address the whole painting issue... especially as we don't know ESB or ROTJ? ;)

p.s - Welcome aboard bruv... welcome to the insanity that is Fett!

Hmmm, I'm not sure exactly what the difference would be so I will need help with the details for that later on. But currently I want to actually do Legacy Fett if at all possible since that would be the most current one.

Ummm, I really don't want to be flamed for this but I am very new to the whole helmet process and paint job and while I know tons about Boba Fett I don't know what ESB or ROTJ mean. Would someone care to fill me in?

Hi!
ESB meaning "empire strikes back" and ROTJ meaning "Return of the jedi" The helmet paint jobs are very different for each movie. do some research here on the forums by using the search function and decide which paint job is best for you. I have a sgt. fang helmet I painted in ESB and I love it. I wish you good luck and remember, have fun:)

You might want to sleep with the helmet first. That way you get a little "cuddle-time" in.

man I am so glad I'm not the only one that does this.
did it with my TK lid, then the clone lid, then my TB lid...... really, I did.

oh wait - u were only joking?

Well I'm finally back on. Hurricane Ike has cut my power off for almost a week now. I really still don't have power Im just using a generator now :( Anyway because of that I haven't been able to order the helmet yet :( Also I have decided now that I am going to make my own mando instead of the Fett man. So is there some way I can order a molded helmet without the dent already in it? If not what should I do to get rid of the dent? (I want a new Mando is why)

No one that I know has a dent free lid casting, but you can fill it with bondo and sand smooth? ;)
