Helmet voice changer

Greetings all..

I have been trying for a while to find somewhere i could get a small voice changer that i could put in my helmet, that not only changes my voice slightly, but allso have a voice output that actually is loud enough for ppl "outside" the helmet to hear.. I found this one a while ago http://store.xtremegadget.com/poamsy.html but it isnt really what i need.. Im trying to find something that i can put inside my helmet so i dont have to deal with wires at all.. I hope i made it clear enough what i need, because its something that have been bothering me for a while that i couldnt find anything..
Oh, and i better tell that i live in denmark, so please, if you know any stores that sell them, they need to have some sort of website or something that ships to denmark ;).. And im not any technical at all, so a voice amp thats ready just to plug in as soon as i get it would be awsome.. Unless someone who reads this is so kind that they might wanna make one for me, and send it with the mail.. ofcause ill pay for the items used and the shipping.. Hope someone can help..

Welcome to the boards, someone here will be able to answer your question, I am sure of it, first thing that comes to my mind is Radio Shack, but I'm not for certain, ah, guys???

Well to be honest, unless you're some audio wizard I doubt you'll be able to have this thing self contained in your bucket due to feedback. I've never had any luck with it. In my sandtrooper I had a pretty sick system set up but I could only go 1/2 volume due to feedback. There has got to be a way though. If you've seen that new EP2 kids toy clone helmet, the sound system in there is pretty cool and self contained. The only problem with gutting that is there are no volume controls and it has a static burst which Fett doesn't have...

With my Snowtrooper, I have the same headset you posted in that link with a smaller radio shack amplifier in a belt pouch which works with no feedback but you have to deal with the wires.

I'm curious to see what others have to contribute. There is a good amount of room in a Fett bucket for electronics so I'm sure it is doable...

I'm a long way off from worrying about helmet electronics at the moment, but I've done an occasional search on the net and I've been thinking of the possibility of a bluetooth headset connected to a voice amp with a bluetooth transmitter. Sounds nice in theory but I've no idea how well it works in practicality.

Also it would probably be quite expensive. :facepalm

My idea is to somehow shield of a small speaker, like Hovi or something, and then use my Rom/Fx unit with the click sounds off.. Don´t know if it´s going to work or not, but I´m going to try it anyways..:)

Then to something danish..

Funny. I was just discussing this very topic with my girlfriend; we're talking about trying to get voice modulators in our custom Mando helmets.

I would suggest some 20 dollar hand held radios. Talkabouts I think they are called.

Clip one to your belt on high volume. Put the other in your helmet. Take it apart, its small. I think it would work no problem.

That is what I intend to do.

At the most you may need to solder some.

Actually.. Thats a great idea.. Just need to find some that dosnt have that constant radio noice like those i have.. Shouldnt be too big of a problem.. Thats atleast a good solution to keep for a temporary setup.. then i can allways find/make a better system later if thats what i want to.. ofcause, if anyone have a good idea as well, feel free to post it :)..

If you use the two radios idea, you will need to figure out how you will push the 'talk' button. If you use VOX, all your breathing and other audible sounds will constantly be coming thru the radio attached to your belt, I'm doubting you would want that.

You could get a headset/throat mic and attach it to one of the radios hidden somewhere on your back. They have some that can be activated by a button that is attached to your hand (just squeeze or press your hand). Then have the radio on the front turned up to full volume and it will project away from the radio on your back (shouldn't have any feedback issues). Thing is you will have wires to worry about and you will still have the 'transmitting' click.
