Helmet size

Several years ago my wife said she wanted to go as Boba Fett for Halloween. With a lot of artistic license and a ****** bucket I got done the day of the party.

Now I will be taking my time reworking most of this costume (and practicing for when I do mine). My question is who makes a helmet the size of this Rubies. I tried the tutorials for the conversions, lets just say it didn't end well. I have asked this question before and was told a Fang is small. But is it as small as the Rubies ? I may end up trying the WOF templates. Also is this a good size for my wife?

Thanks

Well fang was considerd small afew years ago , with the likes of the MSH1/MSH2 and FPH, and MLC1 around however these days (now we know) a ST fang is the real size , WOF templates are a bit bigger then a real sized helmet ,
there are few good helmet makers around but for your purposses id sugest you give Asok a pm he makes a great lid which comes with all the parts you will need to finish it ,
But if you want a rubies sized, (If its for some one who stands 5-4 and small) Your only other option is a don post which is what rubbies recast to make theres the first don post helmets circa 1995-96 are the only ones worth considering ,
how ever if its for some one 5-5 and up or a larger framed just try the Asok its cast from a moddifed Master replica helmet which are perfect size wise , it may seem big going from a rubies, or you could always modifey a Jango to look like boba though Id advise against it it could be done as they are a bit smaller

Are you talking about one of his cold cast? I have been thinking about one of those for me. Also I know the pic. is not the best, but what do you think about the size of the helmet for her?

thanks
BH

Size looks alright for her How tall is she?
And yes his CC one, well any Boba he makes is from the same mold and a good helmet

The things that stick out on the pic are the gauntlets and the strap on the blaster it looks a bit big how ever for haloween Im sure they did the trick ,

The gauntlets are pure garbage. They were something I threw together in about 15 minutes, not counting paint time. I just ran out of time for our Halloween party. I will be using WOF templates and reducing size for her Fett.
I think she is 5'7", and weighs around 110lbs. The Dickies flight suit is baggy on her, making her look a little bigger. The blaster strap was something I had laying around the house.

I started with that Rubies helmet and with lots of work and 3 paint jobs in the last year... I'm happy with the results, but it's a little small for me. I have to angle it to get it on with my glasses, and occasionally my nose bumps the visor. I believe I have a mystery helmet coming soon (I hate slow contact from sellers). I thought about selling this once I get the new one assembled and painted, but with the amount of free time I now dedicate to prop building/painting, I think I need to keep my first major project around for its sentimental value!

edit: and I know I got the color wrong on the earcap. I was accidentally working off both RotJ and ESB color lists / ref photos. I just haven't corrected it because I knew I would eventually want a better bucket and have poured way too much time into this one.

I'd grab a Cold cast Jango from Asok on here. The mold is from FettPride. The Jango's are a little bit smaller then what the Fangs Mystery sits at. Thats what I am doing for my wifes custom mando set. Easy to start with a nice fresh canvas of a beautiful cold cast Jango helmet then retooling a flimsy rubies lid. Just my two cents.

Just an FYI the Asok Jango isnt from FettPride molds, but the Asok Boba is from FettPrides FP MR molds Ive seen many get that wrong

Your best bet for some thing for you wife would be either a Jango or even a don post 95 or 96 which there are a few on EBay at the moment and they start at around $40, Id say look in to the DP 95 Its a lot nicer than the Rubies you have in the pic
