I am looking for one but can only find clear or the ocasional green .. I still say that the sale of the black/tinted ones are restricted in the uk ( at least I'm guessing thats the case )

Green is the color of the original, so perhaps that is a better choice?

A new thought on the visor... ( my father's idea not mine ) take a clear face shield and spray it with tinting agent ( I'm not sure what the stuff is actually called ? ).. any thoughts on this or perhaps someone has tried this before ?

I tried using that spray on tint stuff on my first car many moons ago........I wasn't impressed with it in the least bit. It seemes real difficult to get it even, but that was 15 years ago too....memory a little shady.......

I understand the trouble you're having trying to find welders visors in the UK, I still can't find a supplier for the green version. The USA based ones don't ship to the UK either.

If you have some clear acrylic that needs tinting, you can buy a self adhesive tinting strip from Halfords that goes on the inside of car windows, it sticks really well but is a little expensive. Oh, watch out for air bubbles when applying.

I thought you get could get some sort of tinting stuff but I wasnt exactly sure was it was, luckily there are a couple of good car parts/repair shops in town

I found a couple of suppliers online who do the green face shields while I was looking for a black one, I'll see if I can find them again and pass the addresses onto you

Nearly finished painting it .. will post pictures when finished ( deciding what colour to do the ears ).

These pictures are not brilliant .. but I had to use a digital camera as my photos are not back from the developing lab yet
Its a lot darker than the pictures show.. sort of dirty looking

I stole my firs visor.

It wasn't a good thing, but it was the only visor I could find at my father's job...so, I swiped it under my shirt and left a twenty on the table.

So, I guess I really didn't steal it...I just took it without asking.

I'm not proud...but I was desperate.

You left twenty dollars/pounds/ ? .... so its not too bad
Mind you I had not thought about stealing a visor .. it might have to come to that as my first attempt at the visor did not work so well ..
