Which Helmet here is most accurate?

So between bobamaker, and whoever else I can find, who has the most accurate unpainted helmet for an ESB Fett costume. :confused

Thank you!

When buying a helmet it really comes down to price (unless you want to start a bonfire). I can personally attest to TF's cold cast helmet. I love it and it is very accurate, although I can't really compare it to other buckets because it's the only one I've owned.

Now.... are you talking ESB the movie or ESB MoM or something else ESB that i cant think of at this exact time....

I can vouch for BM, his work is, as Jim Carrey says in Bruce Almighty, B... E... A... UUUTIFUULLLL :p

Your best bet, buy that Reference CD and lose hours of sleep staring at it to find out what is closer to what you are after....

But if you are after doing a MoM, its Bobamaker for sure :D

There are so many factors you need to consider before you purchase your helmet- money, size, shape, material, accuracy.

How much do you have to spend? helmet's can run from $75-$300
What is your size and build? Some helmets are bigger then others, and some people prefer/need a smaller or larger helmet to fit their specific size and shape?
Do you want a resin, cold cast aluminum, or fiberglass helmet?
Availability? Some helmets aren't being made anymore, others are made to order.

There are alot of great makers, I've also got a TF helmet- its a larger helmet and is cold cast aluminum. But it fits my size and height I think. BM does amazing work, I'd reccomend him to anyone, in fact the next helmet I get will probably be from him. The FPH is coming soon and thats supposed to be the most accurate fanmade helmet out there. Then there's master replicas helmet coming out.... Or you could go with the standby Sgt. Fang- His is probably the most popular helmet, but I know there is some addition prep work thats needed when you first get it which may detract from somone new to costuming.

There's alot of questions that you need to ask to help you decide. but once you figure it out youll know truely what your options are.

Also I believe in one of the FPH threads there are comparisons between the FPH and other popular helmet makes. Do a search and you'll find it.

take care!

Phil

As others have suggested, you should take the time to do some research and try to come up with your own personal preference.

I spent a lot of time reading these forums before I made the commitment to spend my money on a helmet. In the end, I decided to purchase a Bobamaker helmet and I could not be happier.

Edit: Oh and that's an AFFO$ paint job for those who might be wondering.

my helmet is a Bobamaker's, got it from therpf [i think it was painted and sold by Fettster], the helmet was my 1st boba's item, at that time, i only knew bobamaker, so i just bought it [also after saw its awesome painting] and it fits nicely on my head, not too big nor too small

lol sorry for misunderstanding but I see this alot at forums...:)

I would like my costume to be mostly like my avatar from the start page.

Personally, I think the paintjob makes a bucket look incredible, not so much the measurements, angles, details, etc. Whether you go for a Sgt Fang, Bobamaker, TF, FP, MS, or whatever- do your prepwork right and take your time to do a killer paintjob. If your painting skills are not very good, you could either commission someone to paint it for you, or you could look at getting one of the MR buckets. $400 for a helmet with a very nice paintjob already on it, plus a fantastic interior and working RF lights- your really can't go wrong.

At the risk of getting flamethrowered (is that a word?) by those who revere the most accurate of helmets, I have to agree that the paint job is the #1 best way to make your bucket look fantastic. I've seen some not quite accurate lids that were painted awesomely, and they blew me away. On the other hand, I've seen some very accurate lids that have had mediocre paint jobs and left me flat.

If you want your suit to look just like your avatar, then you might wanna talk to Jango Fett JR. Thats his suit in the pic you are using.

I totally agree. The paint job really does make the costume/helmet.

I'm a professional artist so the painting should not be so hard for me.
