Helmet Differences

PrimalScream91

New Hunter
Ok, I'm new here but I am not new to Boba Fett. I have recently however, become more serious in my quest to build my own costume, and the first key feature I want to source out is the Helmet. Over the past few years I have used tk409.com as my site to gather information. Other than being a tremendous help in me gaining knowledge on the different aspects of Fett's armor, and eventually leading me here, he mentions 2 helmets in particular, the Sgt Fang and the Marrow Sun. But now that I have started to broaden my search on this website I'm hearing about the FettPrides and the Grant McCune as well.

After reading some of the posts on this website I am a bit torn on which is better (if that's what you'd call it)

Do the Sgt Fang and Marrow Sun "Mysteries" and the Grant McCune's source back to the same helmet? The Pre-Pro 2 Correct? and if so what are the differences?

And where do the Fettprides originate?

Any other decent helmets out there?

Please help me out if you can and I cant wait to interact and get to know more of you as I become more involved in TDH.

...Fettpride is selling the Grant McCune helmets and they are cast from a pre pro helmet. They are the most accurate helmets out there currently.

Not exactly. They are cast of modified/repaired cast of mould of a cast of a repaired mould of a repaired cast of a PP#2 helmet mould. I hope that makes sense.

Haha, thanks. I was trying to cut a long story short.

The two threads FettPride has linked to in the thread I have put the link to in post 2 explains it all. I hope that makes sense. :)

The "fettpride helmet" is no longer made FP makes an MR prototype helmet, which is a digital scan basically MR did and wasnt altered, like the production helmet. The GMH is what it is like said above, the Mystery helmets are also from the PP2 line but werent done like the GMH they were moddified significantly and are shaped differently because of said modifications. They are NOT as close as the GMH. Id say wait for a GMH only because its the most accurate and well crafted helmet available.

I went to fparmor.com via the link at the bottom of fettprides posts, It seems like a very nice website but the pages are not in english, looks like latin or italian?

Chris is working on A LOT of things the site being one of them...its redesigned. The site wont have prices if thats what your wanting to know. He works diligently you can bet he can help with your armor needs

If you want a helmet in the next few months Id look in to byinh one from Asok if I were you , as the maker you are refering to is very solidly booked and it may cause you frustration when trying to contact him ,And the helmet Asok is selling is made from said helmet makers previous helmet mold , and is a good helmet with roots back to the PP3 helmet,
How ever if you want to get probly the closest looking helmet to the original and dont mind waiting some time go with the GMH

That is the cold cast one correct jinto, and as a novice in the actual molding/casting process what does the cold cast exactly mean and how does that differ from the other ways of casting?

I actually just got my hands on a ASOK FP Budget today, and its great...Its significantly heavy then the FP fiberglass version of the same helmet...the Cold cast is resin impregnated with metal dust jinto will surely explain way better than that

Just to clear things up with that post While asoks helmets are VERY top quality, FPs parts are the ones I was refering to which ARE HANDS DOWN the best out there

So as for quality, (considering what is currently out there) I would want to go with:

Fettprides GMH
Asok's "Coldcast"
or if I can get hold of him (pmed him the other day) a Sgt Fang "Mystery" bucket?

Any other good ones currently on the market?

fettprides GMH, Fettprides Premium Prototype MR, Aosks CC FP Budget...asok has a ticket system in place its in his first post on his For Sale thread
