    Dec 10, 2006, 9:17 AM - Helmet Decal Application #1

After an attempt to use a stencil I found somewhere here to paint on some "kill marks" on my buy'ce, I messed it up and had to strip my bucket and repaint. I was not pleased to say the very least! Anyway, my buy'ce is again painted and I think I'm going to go ahead and use a set of decals that I was given free when I bought my visor instead of trying to paint them on. Essentially, I want to know any and all tips or tricks concerning how to easily slap on the decals. My main issue is getting it to be straight, with no bubbles or creases in it. Anyone have any words of wisdom? Now I just have to find a set of all white Mythosaur decals for my left shoulder plate and another white SuperCommando/Fett clan decal which goes on the right chest plate. I also need a custom Syntir Clan sigil/symbol made also but I'm having a hard time finding someone who'll do it. Thanks guys, I await your advice...

You can cut out a stencil from cardboard in the shape on the kill makers and then mask the kill marks damage with masking fluid or mustard. Then put the stencil on and lightly apply the paint with a sponge, if done lightly enough the different shades in the kill marks can be achieved.

I think I learned that from afettfullofdollars I dont remember though.

Here's a thread I did on painting killstripes. It's not the fastest way, but the results can't be argued with.

I cannot believe that I didn't think to put on masking tape and then trace the kill stripes onto the tape and cutting out the individual stripes lightly with an Exacto knife, and then painting them. Doh!!!!!
