You can cut out a stencil from cardboard in the shape on the kill makers and then mask the kill marks damage with masking fluid or mustard. Then put the stencil on and lightly apply the paint with a sponge, if done lightly enough the different shades in the kill marks can be achieved.
I think I learned that from afettfullofdollars I dont remember though.

I cannot believe that I didn't think to put on masking tape and then trace the kill stripes onto the tape and cutting out the individual stripes lightly with an Exacto knife, and then painting them. Doh!!!!! :lol
