Helmet chincup and strap help.

Check out the Pre-Pro #3 images in the Gallery. There are lots of good shots of the helmet's inside that shows how the chin strap is attached with screws, the same screws that holds the ears.

Or here is the ESB Hero

Or you might want the ROTJ Hero one

I think the best help will be from BGHunter.

Firstly each helmet seems to have different weather it hex bot in to the ear or bolt from the ear in to the helmet
When I made my last ESB interior , I got a strap and cup from a police riot helmet (well Kurtyboy actually got them for us) picked up on ebay for not to expensive , and removed the strap for m the riot helmet , top attach them to the helmet,First of I had a nut n bolt system holding the ears on so for the right hand side one of the screws for the ear I made longer so I could attach the strap which Id burnt a hole through I glued washers on either side of the whole on the strap and added a few more washers before screwing the nut on , the other side is a bit different (if your going scren accurate that is) as it has a hex bolt that goes from the inside of the helmet to the left ear, I think this is on ESB only, as PP3 has wex bolts in to each strap ,though you can just repeat the same method as the other side and have a good result ,

I know this is an old thread, but I need to try to get a strap kit for my FP helm. I didn't know its size compared to how big my head was and now that the MQ-1 and visor are in I don't have hardly any room for padding. So to help keep it from moving around, I will use the strap to help secure it, I have the chin cup already ( a DVH cast) but I need a few ideas how to get the straps for it.

3/4" nylon webbing is what you want, some d-rings and a snap.

You could also go full accurate by getting a vintage riot helmet and ripping the straps out of it. The riot police helmets have the leather pieces that are attached to the inside of the helmet.

And the chincup and it's strap:

Finding straps that have buckles instead of snaps is becoming difficult. I am thinking of modifying a hockey chin strap so it will connect to snaps inside the helmet. I know it's not movie accurate, but its the best I can come up with right now.
