Helmet Chin Strap

Hi

I recently found a 1980's "British Riot Police Helmet" on eBay. I spent a while in search of one of these after seeing a picture here on TDH of Boba's Helmet Chin Strap. These pics show the ILM picture (top left) and the chin strap that I have in comparison. I'm not sure which one of the mods published the picture, but thanks for this.

I'm making a copy for a customer at the moment, so I've made a mould of the plastic chin cup and made a few extra copies from black resin. I'll publish some pics shortly of the moulding process and the finished copies. I've ordered the correct black webbing, velcro and 'D' rings that will make the straps complete.

I'm happy to do a small run of these straps if anyone's interested.

Well the webbing and 'D' rings arrived today, just waiting for the velcro then we're good to go. Here's a few pics of the mould and the original chin cup next to one of my black resin casts, spot the difference :confused

I'm really pleased with this mould, not a single air bubble or blemish :D

Very cool looking man, absolutely perfect copy. I'm going to guess that the one on the left in the third pic is the copy. Only because of the lesser sheen.

DAZ, just one question:

Is the chin cup for trooping or just for decoration?

Hard Resin at my chin while wearing the helmet seems to be not very comfortable...:confused
