HeadlessHunters FPH Progress Thread

I surprised myself, there was a horrible moment when I thought I'd have to start from scratch again, it was my first time using Winsor and Newton too, great stuff. Next onto the back (y)

I used the old MK1 eyeball  Honestly I just marked out where I wanted to start and finish and then did it all by eye, I completely applaud the stencils provided and I totally see why people make use of them but for me I like to have a bit more of a personal touch to details like this, although I do use the stencils as reference, hope that makes sense (y)

makes sense to me :)

my kill stripes aren't 100% accurate, but they have been consistent across all 4 helmets i've done. it's a little bit of me mixed in there!

Update - Things are still moving slowly here but I am very happy with hows its all coming together, I got the killstripes finished and now am moving onto the grey detaling under the cheeks, I've got one done and will start the next in few minutes, heres how shes looking so far...

Looking awesome Joe... 8)

Qn for ya - Are you gonna paint the raised areas on both the left and right ears the same colour as the mating parts (Ears)...?

Just something I did but wasn't sure if you were gonna?

Keep up the great work bro...

Thanks for the nice comments, they keep me going, with regards to those parts Gav yes I will paint them the respective green and earth colours (y)

Update - starting to add the damage sections now, I also got the cat scratch down, still needs a bit of finishing off but I'm really pleased with how shes turning out, I've surprised myself with how good it looks, please feel free to critique otherwise I'll be unstoppable

Thanks guys, with regards to the stencils your right I haven't used any, I did print them off and copy them on by hand using a fine pencil again and then painting over, as I said before I want my own stamp on this, onto the dent next (y)

Update - I've added the grey details around the cat scratch and also started work on the dent, moving along quite nicely at the moment, I also ordered my shade 5 visor and screws for mounting it, should be here next week :cheers

Yeah 75/25 roughly, and like Eric I mixed a little green into the grey to give it a nice contrast, otherwise it does tend to blend into the Panzer Olive Green a little, thanks for the kind words (y)

For the grey under the scratches I used reefer grey with a few drops of a tamiya colour called black green, just to darken it up a bit as on its own its quite a similar tone to the Panzer Olive Green, I used this formula for all the other scratch details as well except the grey area under the 1st killstripe I think (dont quote me :)) that its a little darker so I mixed up another small amount and added a bit of flat black (y)
