grey quilted helmet liner?

so, in these pics:

they are both wearing that grey quilted thing on their heads. it looks like some sort of arming cap. has this ever been identified? if it's an off the shelf thing, it might be neat to pick one up.

or, has anyone made a replica?

It is actually part of the neck seal, it is not a found piece but rather custom made to go with the neck. Most people don't make or use them just because it would be so **** hot to wear it isn't worth it.

i can see it being pretty toasty. i've got my thin balaclava for hot days and my thermal for cold days, and have mixed it up a couple of times.

insulated head-sock + 75 degrees isn't good.

I Agree, that must be hot, but looks pretty good !!!

I will try to find one, or make my own one (As I´m for movie accurate)... Would be great to find it source (if there is some)

Are those guys stunt doubles? The first pic has a hose going to the left gaunt. Wait...looks like he is wearing the right gaunt on the left arm:?

I think that pic is a mirror image. It looks right "flipped".

I've got one of the fan made hoods... seems like I bought it 3-4 years ago. It's really lame to wear, it makes my face look fat... but I'm planing on displaying my Boba without the helmet, so I just had to have it.

why do u want to display mr. fett w/o a helmet...seems like blasphemy to me...hes supossed to be the man of mystery, blah blah. just wondering.

I'm not sure about the cape but the shoulder bell is on the wrong side on the SE ANH.

ya that guy has the right gaunt on his left arm. the cape & skull are on the right sides. sooo he screwed up. curious to see it its like that in the film

well, it's not doing great things for don's head in that picture, so i guess it's safe to say that it's not the most appealing of fashion statements.

i'm glad to hear that someone has one... with all of the striving for accuracy here, i was a little surprised that no-one took that extra step. ;)

The original pic posted of Don Bies is correct. The pic was not flipped when it was first posted. He was incorrectly wearing the right gauntlet on the left arm, but the cape and shoulder bell were correct. The people pointing at him are figuring out that they messed up. Mark Austin's pic does have the incorrect shoulder bell on his left side.

Well! All I have to say is just from the looks of him, hoodie or not, that guy should have never worn the Fett Uniform! PERIOD!

I was kinda weirded out to see that guy in the costume on the first pic. Dosnt look too intimidating, or rather, a Fett...looks a little geeky....

For a hoddie, couldnt you justget one of the ones that pro racers hae, like the Nascar drivers? They look very similar. Also, you should try some fire fighting equipment stores. When I did some DC training on a ship, part of the fire fighters suit is a hood almost exactly like that.

That's Don Bies the Droid Handler for ILM. He only wore the suit for that one Special Edition scene.

i think i found what we have all been looking for... as for it getting hot, im sure everyone will agree that this is OH SO COOL :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

hahaha! I'd like to see some of you guys in your fett-fit...I'm sure most of us look like dorks too! I'll be the first to embrace the dork-dom!!!:lol :lol

I got one of those hood´s like Don Bies is wearing, and I stopped using it because I got a terrible headache from using it and it was hot. Do not recomend it.
