Ears are here!

The parts are wonderful and the result of a considerable amount of effort. But for all that they are not perfect.
Some areas will need to be worked on when you take these out of the box.

There are burrs on the edges of the parts that will need to be filed and sanded down. Dont worry about sanding the hell out of the ears, you can always shine it back up with steel wool and the originals were sanded anyway.
There is one burr that will prevent you from putting the stalk bolt in at first (from the shop drilling the stalk pivot before the wire hole)
Sand the inside of the stalk hole with heavy grit or files etc. Do this to the inner ear as well.

15mins later everything will be in order.

Here is what you need to know about the upper right ear:

If you have your 1SX1-T switch you will need to file it down to fit. This is because the GMH is a bit small.
You should file more off the back than the front to match the holes. That is; file right down to the pin on the back and less on the button side.

The bolts for the switch will go on bit askew at first but work out fine. After you have tightened these very tightly, file the ends flush where they stick up on the backside of the inner ear. (see below)

Now you will need to dremel the hole for the brass stalk bolt to fit though. The real helmets had this hole and I matched the shape. It's the only way to mount the ears right.
It should look like this.

And that's the upper right ear.

IMPORTANT: Not all of the mounting hole impressions on the GMH will match these ears. The ears were based off of better reference so we made the changes.
What this means:
The lower right ear; matches up 100%
The upper right ear; will need to be positioned on the helmet and marked for hole positions.
The left ear; the bottom hole matches but the top does not. Measure the hole position on the backside of the ear and then mark it on the ear platform.

You will love these! More to come on my GMH

Sweet! I'm going to the post office today to pick up my set, plus another
for a helmet commission I'm working on. It'll be awesome getting these onto
a bucket. :)

The bottom visor mount? Brass cheesehead bolts. Thread was M3 and length was 5 or 6 mm I think.
I can find out when I'm at home if you need me to.

thank you keegan,
but everytime i search for it... all i can find is 2BA X 1/2" BRASS CHEESE HEAD SCREWS, you have any idea if it's the same size like yours?
