GMH Helmet: Dent Filled In with Plumber's Putty

I purchased from a member a GMH helmet. He was working on a Tobbi Dala build, and used some quality parts, including the GMH helmet (#29), of which he filled in the dent with plumber's putty (and drilled three holes to help seat the putty). In the future, if I ever decide to convert Tobbi Dala back to Boba Fett, is it possible to remove the plumber's putty and maintain the integrity of the GMH? Or, is the GMH "ruined" (for lack of a better term...the guy did a great job on the Dala build).
    Thanks!

I wouldn't call it ruined.....that Tobbi Dala was a great build. You got an awesome buy on that.

The answer is yes you can put the dent back in but in the long run I would imagine you could sell that helmet for $400 bucks and buy a Boba helmet if you wanted to go that route. It would probably be easier than trying to repair/replace the dent.

Im working on the same thing as well. I have a DP 97 that I modified to make it a custome mandelore and now I'm heavily modifying it making back into a boba fett. Now when it comes to redoing the dent I'm gonna goo with the dremel . Putty can be removed with mini drum sanders , cutting wheels and other mini shaping tools. It will get very dusty so wear a mask.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to wait for a new GMH, so I may work on this one; I've been reading some tips on removing plumber's putty generally. I'll feel darn bad messing up the other member's work; but it was his inspiration. Boba Fett inspires me.

    I had some luck.
A little heat, delicate scraping, light sanding, and patience, and the plumber's putty came right out.
