FPH Interest Thread/ UPDATE

:)Hi all...

I've been receiving a few PM's and emails in regards to the FPH Project.
While the main thread is still in review, I wanted to let everyone know that I spoke with Fettpride last night and the project is still on.:thumbsup..and nothing has changed.

**Those that have already PM'd FP, and those still interested please post your interest in this thread. **

Again this is an interest thread ONLY, so please refrain from posting any type of debate on the subject.

The Aluminum Ears are still in the works aswell...and should be finalized this weekend....(details to follow) :thumbsup

On a personal note, I want to apologize to the Administration:thumbup, for any unnecessary banter that has occurred on my end in regards to this project.

As stated by Spidey, this is an interest thread, not a discussion and dissection of the FPH helmet thread. If you are interested in purchasing an FPH helmet, this thread is for you. If you are not interested in purchasing an FPH helmet, please do not post here. The FPH helmet thread that was pulled last night will be reinstated once we have gone through it and further discussion of the helmet may be carried on there. If mudslinging in any form, from any faction, is brought into this thread, bannings will be the result.

I think it was asked in the other thread but not addressed yet. I will let FP respond to that one but the best I can say is it will be about the same as the MSH2 kit was for the base kit of this bad boy. That would be resin ears with a fiberglass helmet.

They were quoting a couple hundred, but it was preliminary pricing at the time. :thumbsup

Forgive my ignorance, but what does "cold cast" mean? And why are aluminum ears so highly sought after? Don't they just get painted anyway?

Well, that depends...if you are doing ESB, the ears clearly show exposed aluminum on the right ear pieces...so not entirely painted over.

And ROTJ...well both ears are pretty much exposed aluminum (metal ears).....plus some addtional weathering on top....

So I guess it depends what version you are wanting to do.

And Cold Cast is resin based, and has an Aluminum finish, which is a great alternative to a high cost Machined-Cut ears.

for rotj they are just weathered a bit, so having your ears already looking like metal is nice.

Hey guys and gals,

Just a quick update on everything ...

Just finished getting the new house setup in Indiana. Will be on my way back to my house and shop in Oregon on Monday. Had a 2 day delay because there were flights being redirected because of a Hurricane somewhere (haven't had time to keep up on current events), as well as all of the 400 series aircraft were grounded for maintenance (I think they found a safety issue and had to check all their other planes) :doh As soon as the house in Oregon closes, I'm a "Hoosier" for good :lol

FPH - Update ....

All is moving forward. I will begin as SOON as I return to Oregon on Monday. I want to thank EVERYONE who has been supporting this project up here since the debut. I'm pleased to move forward with this. From the beginning, we only wanted this project to be an asset to the board, nothing more. I only hope that any of the negativity that had been presented up here in the last couple of weeks didn't give anyone a bad taste where this new helmet is concerned. (Not trying to open wounds, just wanted to get that out there). So, a genuine "Thank you" to everyone for keeping this thread and it's purpose alive. And last, but certainly not least, a big thanks to the Forum Administration for their part in keeping the peace, and continuing to make this board a place where we all want to spend our free time :)

I will be sending out a mass PM later this morning or early afternoon to those that have been in constant contact with us regarding this project. All of your questions will be answered, and instructions included.

Again, thanks to all for their kind words and support !

So far the run is limited........** but please know that there are some cancelations already, and there is a "back-up" list that we are going by.....so you still may have your chance at getting one..................all info will be sent to you if you are next on the list. :thumbsup

And those that have yet to respond you will be getting a follow up PM soon, if no response is recieved yet again you will be bumped from the list. (and NO, the list will not be made public)
