FP Budget helmet in COLD CAST!

Thanks again Asok. Had mine a while now, drilling for earpiece & RF will be commencing this week. Also, where can I leave you feedback with this iTrader thing they implemented? :p You deserve it!

To leave feedback, just click on the screen name. There will be a tab for "Feedback Score." You'll get the hang of it from there ;)

I just did this for Asok, as working with him has been second to none. Truly a fantastic experience. Thanks for the CC Bucket!

Just got my ASOK CC boba lid shipped to Australia. I'd just like to say how great ASOK is to deal with. He is a true professional! 5 star service all the way.

Got mine recently and the quality is awesome, got my friend drooling over it so you may be getting another order soon Asok. ;)

That would be me. :p

Gonna pony up the dough in three weeks... still recouping some costs from SWCVI. I'm looking forward to when I submit the order, Asok. This is really great work. Thanks.

Dan,

Drop me an email and I will get you on the list to get a helmet. I do not take money until I am ready to ship you a helmet.

Thanks,
Asok

I'm paying for my cold cast helmet tomorrow and very excited! I've used the cold casting process on some of my fine arts sculptures when I didn't feel like paying the foundry $600 min for hot cast solid bronze. Looked and felt like the real thing and even added patina.

My question is about painting over it as I've never done so. Not sure if I'm doing a topical or reverse layer paint job. If were to do a topical paint and cover up cold cast aluminium layer completely with paint, does anyone notice if helmet still has that metal feel? I think touching a fett helmet that feels like cold metal is just really neat!

After talking wih asok about it I agree that it's just cool to cast it this way. More like it would be in real life. Either way I'm stoked to grab the awesome FP kit and the cold cast is just a cool bonus.

I've been a star wars collector since the 90s and building projects just as long but I'm finally just around to this one so I'm stoked! It's for ddisplay so I plan to do rf lights. Also, I want to sculpt interior details like people have done based off riddell helmets. Just for personal use and cast in a self skinning foam and paint. Just a fun show off feature since I'm a sculptor anyway. Finally it will live in my ikea case with plaque. Getting ahead of myself though as I have months of tedious work when my kids go down for nap.

Makes me stoked to see how much everyone loves their helmets though!
