First time painting ROTJ

As the title says this will be my first ROTJ paint up and it will be on a ToElveven Fiberglas helmet . The helmet is beautiful made and highly reccomended if you're looking for one ! I've painted two full ESB helmets and fixed another two touching up certain panels so far so since this helmet can be painted either way I decided to go ROTJ . I will be doing rattle cans for this and had most of them already laying around .

How the helmet came

And now sanded, trimmed and primed

Looks great so far! Those mandible walls are so thin! That ear attachment is awesome too! No magnets!! :)

Must nice that it's thin and strong I have a fat head Hahahaha I used the bottom holes on the ear cap for guide bolts and use magnets still, so much easier to take on and off to pack up the range finder ! I ended up using Chicago screws to attach the ear caps so it's all nice and flush on the inside of the helmet .

Silver sprayed down

Sprayed grey back down after masking the silver then misted it in some spots with black to give the grey that two tone look .

Rears un masked , pretty happy with it . Still needs all the small little details that will be all hand applied after its fully painted

Cheeks are silver . After cheeks I'll to the mandibles then finally the dome .

So glad you're doing rotj! Looking nice.

I'm seeing a lot of these around lately. I want to try and tackle it, but then I'm afraid I'd have to acknowledge that there was another movie released after Empire.

Wait it there was another movie after empire ?!?! Hahahahaha

I put it up to a vote on my IG and it was unanimously ROTJ so here we are ! I'm really excited about it actually kind of like a nice break from the same paint jobs . Again thank you for the amazing cast its a pleasure to work with !

Been quite busy today ! Red isn't gloss it will flatten out as it dries . Back panels , cheeks and mandibles are painted . I'll tackle the dome tomorrow and hopefully finish it by day's end

Lack of step by step updates but it's done for now , need to paint the ear caps but other than that I'm pretty happy with how it turned out . Wasn't going for suuuuuper accurate just in the ball park . Mind you , this is all rattle cans and a silver sharpie hahaha
