First Helmet

A flat head screwdriver worked for me if you don't want to risk ruin a knife. By the way, for a DP95, do you guys recommend painting first before removing the T visor? Will the bucket retains its shape if i take the visor out before I paint and primer it? Thanks, and good Luck with the can alzucar!

Well, all parts are off, and the primer is on :) just waiting now for the first coat to dry...btw, does anyone know where i can get a good set of the kill marks decal?

For any DP or Rubies, I'd paint it before removing the visor. It's the only way to be sure it retains its shape. The down side is, you will need to repaint the area you cut the visor from, but that's not a big thing.

You can get some kill markings templates from TK409's site:

The best thing is they're free and excellent! Way to go TK409! (y)

Ah, those look great! im gonna give those a try (when the time comes that is lol) Second coat on and just did the ear piece and RF (pics coming soon)

Well, here it is so far, primered...now if i can find the correct colors to use.

A good way of making sure that your helmet does not loose its shape when the visor area is cut out is to construct a cardboard frame inside :) .. if you have re-enforced it with Fibre glass or something like that then it should hold its shape anyway (y)

Looking good. Shortimer's right, now would be a good time to cut out the visor. This will allow you to tidy up and repaint any damage caused during the operation. You should be able to add the weathering without to much trouble then put in the new visor. I'm impressed, this may be your first bucket but it is good! With my first bucket I cheated and painted it as a custom!

But ive read that cutting out the visor on the rubies is bad, i heard that the visor give all the suport and might lose its shape...is that true?

Yes that's true, however once the visor is removed you replace it with a full and thick t-visor.

By replacing with a visor like this, you will actually increase the strength of the helmet.

Yeah, i ordered a BM visor, i think his stuff looks great and am looking into buying a set of his armor...so im just waiting on the visor to get here, shouldnt be to long :)

welp, quick update here, got most of the scratches done, and some of the kill marks (which im working on now) so figured id thorw some updated pics in :)

Still waiting on my visor, anyone know how long it took to get your visor from BM if you live in the states?
Any feedback or sugestions would be helpfull!

Looking good. It may just be that you are yet to get around to it, so I apologise in advance if that's the case, but it looks very neat and clean on the "dome" of the bucket, in particular around the dent. I recommend adding further weathering around the outside of the dent as well as some scratches and scuff marks over the dome as a whole (Ole'Boba don't take to much care of his buckets apperance).
As to a timescale for your Bobamaker t-visor delivery, I can't really say with any authority given that I'm in the UK, BUT... he has always been fast with posting items to me and others in Good Ol'Blighty and I understand parcels often arrive sooner than expected when posted overseas.
Dont forget that you will have to cut out, not only the front part of the visor slot but also around the sides of the eyes. I also recommend the use of a hot glue gun for attaching your new Bobamaker visor into place. I've had 2 of his visors (1 for a Rubies Jango and another for BM's helmet) and having glue gunned them in, they are yet to fall out! It's also easier and less messy then anything else.

yeah, i am working on the kill marks now, and didnt want to start scratchin up the dome till i was done w/ that, as i figured it would be easier this way. As i dont have a hot glue gun, do you think a 2 part epoxy would work too?
