First Attempt ESB Cardboard Build

Cheers Sol. I was looking at the Pebeo stuff at my local arts store and was wondering. I'm mostly working inside so polyester resin/fiberglass would be too fumey... Might have to ask my neighbour if I can comandeer his garage for a fortnight...

Incidentally, I know a lot of folks are having a hard time finding the cardboard for this in North America, mostly because it's called something else or other from one place to the next. Here's what I used:

Peterboro Mounting Boards, 28 x 44 in. | DeSerres

Things are coming along here too. Hopefully I can get a few things moved along soonish!

Yeah I hear in the States they're called mounting boards instead of cardboard sheeting. It seems like a lot of people have been using Bondo though and having no issues with it, so that might still be the best way to get the dome done.

I'm getting to the point now where it looks pretty shabby, but as soon as it's primed/sanded I think it will look fine. I added the dent and the ears and here's how its turned out (phone quality pics, sorry guys)

As you can see the mechanism looks kinda awful but rest assured, it works very well.

I'll be priming/sealing possibly over the weekend, but I'll be working on my ESB EE3 during the week (I'll probably use this thread to post pics of that too)

Hey guys,

It's been a while and I've been very busy, at some point neglecting the project altogether. It is a huge undertaking. I have however almost completed the helmet (in the painting stages) and i can say, for someone with no experience it's not looking too bad. It is noticeably a craft helmet however! I'll post pictures in the coming days :)
