Fett Helmet History

Hey Art,

The "Ye Olde Prop Rumor Mill" urban legend is that the Jango bucket was cast/scanned from a Boba Helmet in the archives.

If true, where would the Jango helmet fit in the helmet lineage? Any leads on which helmet spawned it?

Thanks,
OSK

Funny you should mention that... ;)

Pics coming soon...

It is not true. I recently interviewed the person who sculpted the Jango helmet. They did reference a real helmet but he asserts that there was no casting at all involved which would put the Jango helmet completely outside of the Boba line. I am working on a second set of interview questions and plan to post the complete q & a when we are done.

No...just saying I have a screen cast Jango helmet...Banzai has his helmet...so yesterday we did some comparison photos. Just waiting for Banzai to post them...

It was just funny OSK asked that because Banzai had planned to post them in this thread today.

Sweet, can't wait..(y)

VERY cool! Looking forward to seeing them! Perhaps when I come out in a month or so we can compare yours to Banzai's to the PP2. Should make for some great history!

This looks awesome.... but, am I the only person who can't read it? I even tried saving it and increasing the size in my picture viewer. I can make out some of the spots with little text, but the areas with more text are just a blur. I don't think it's my monitor either, because we have a fairly new and fairly nice one here. Great job though. At least I can follow the pictures and the arrows.

Gypsyboy, Are you trying to enlarge the picture posted here, or the pic from the link just above the picture? As Brak's said, the original is way too large to be posted here, and he provided a link to the original, and posted a smaller version to tease us all.. Great work you guys! This'll make one FINE ´poster. Although, I hope you don't get mad at me for pointing out this, there is a small typo on the image. Just above the 'Lava' helmet, the description states helemt.. But, still, this work needs no critisizing, it is truly an art to behold..
Thanks, Ville

There were six original suits, and I think it is reasonable to assume each suit had a complete set of armor.

From talking with one of the archivist in charge of the boba suit at C4 she admitted to enough pieces to make 3 complete suits thought there were left over incomplete sets of armor. So I believe this to be true as well. Se described it as a crate full of armor pieces but didn't recall the number of each incomplete set. :(

But I would say 2 suits worth in the crate as the prepro armor walked away... since the ESB jet pack is in the archives (also confirmed this with her and another person) I would say one of the incomplete sets could be esb... but that may be wishful thinking. Sadly the JP is in a million peices though. :(

Guys this is very cool. (y) Thanks to everyone that contributed to the information and the graphic.

What is known about the original helmet sculpt? Who made it? What happened to it? How many molds were made from the original sculpt? Were each of the six original white helmets pulled from the same mold?

And to complete the "family tree", would it be bennifficial to show a graphic representation of the sculpt at the top of the page with arrows to each of the white helmets?

What is known about the original helmet sculpt?
Not much.

Who made it?
Not 100% sure.

What happened to it?
Don't know.

How many molds were made from the original sculpt?
Based on the info we have, this is most likely the case, especially considering the low number of helmets.

Were each of the six original white helmets pulled from the same mold?
Again, we believe this to be the case.

And to complete the "family tree", would it be bennifficial to show a graphic representation of the sculpt at the top of the page with arrows to each of the white helmets?
If we had a pic of the original sculpt...

Maybe just a picture of a lump of clay ?

Great questions Gator and helpful answers Braks!

How about the history behind the Bobamaker helmet line ? I didnt see a wavy brow at all in those shots.. i could have missed it though

Glad to see this; it's been a long time coming.

Love the lineage discussion. It's the single most interesting subject regarding Fett.

I would clarify which Don Post is pictured in the lineage with a disclaimer that the '95 suffered further shrinking. Looks like the helmet off the lifesize display, though I think some of the later Deluxes had the same look to it.

Great discussion.
