hey guys/gals,

This is only my second post to the forum but I have been following it for several weeks now but I have a question for some of you vets out there.

I have found a DP 96 bucket at a local flea market...been through the wringer had a 2 inch crack on the left cleak and slightly distorted.

I was wondering if anyone could give me the correct measurements for this specific bucket so i can line it back out and put a new visor in.
I just dont know the how far the mandbiles are supposed to be apart or how big the span of the bottom of the bucket should be. Here is a paint drawing that I am gonna try to explain what i am trying to say...lol.

The white lines represent my problem areas that I am not sure about....I would appreciate any advice you guys could give me.

Thanks!

John

Your right Kbrossaeu,

That was just a pic that i have taken off the net just to show what measurements that i needed. I could take a pic of the bucket tonight if it is needed....I just need to get them so I can reshape it correctly.

Well I dont have the info you need. I too am at that stage of reshaping a bit when I put the visor is so the measurements will help us both. I have about 2 inches between the red mandibles vertically. Uncertain everywhere else though...

Do you really need the measurements? I mean if you reshape it and it looks good there'd be no need for measurements. Add the flare, make sure it looks good and straight from all sides and you're set.

I second that, just put it back where it looks natural. Basicly the T- visor should be the same width at the top as the bottom (look at some pic's of other buckets). Also you can do the flare by using a heavy gauge piece of wire and 2-part epoxy or JB weld it on the inside of the helmet in the back on the bottom. Does this make sense?
