Don Post Deluxe Boba Fett Helmet

Good thread cheers, I still have my DP 95, though it fell during an earthquake and now sports a large crack across the dome:cry I always thought the DP Deluxe was a cool helmet and always wanted one, so envious :D

Derailing a bit but dont want to start a thread,
Just wondering if any one has any close up shots of the DonPost statues gauntlets and jet pack?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I stumbled upon this actually looking for the old Star Wars Insider advertisement for it... This helmet has a very special place in my heart.

My first real introduction to Star Wars was at Disney MGM studios. I was born into a family who weren’t Star Wars fans but they were Disney fans, so we’d make regular trips to Walt Disney World (three to four times a year) so I was exposed to Star Wars even if I wasn’t consciously aware of what it was. When I was probably around ten or 11, my mother had gotten one of those Timelife offers for a bunch of free VHS tapes so she asked me what I wanted, and there it was… the Star Wars trilogy. I asked for that. I remember watching them all in one day, sitting in my room, glued to my tv. I was hooked and now, Star Tours had a whole new meaning to me.

Of course, being 11 years old, the next logical step were the action figures… 1995’s Power of the Force II line and my first Boba Fett item. For whatever reason, that silent hunter stood out to me and before long, I had amassed a small collection of Boba Fett items. I used to keep my collection in a small cabinet built into my entertainment center (HA! That wouldn't even hold a fraction now). But one thing stood out to me… A helmet with a VERY high price tag that sat high on a shelf at what was then called Endor Vendor (which makes much more sense than Tattooine Traders, if you ask me). Disney obviously had the lower end DP’s everywhere in sight but after seeing that one on the shelf, I knew I had to have it.

I vividly recall one afternoon, while waiting to get my hair cut, hatching a scheme to save my allowance for one of those helmets. Let’s do the math, shall we? I think retail on that thing was about $800. My allowance was roughly $10 a week then. So, that’s 80 weeks of saving saying I didn’t spend a dime outside of what I was saving. Needless to say, it was a pipe dream. Then, to make matter worse, Disney overhauled Endor Vendor upon the release of Episode I and they no longer carried the helmet.

Still… I knew it would be mine one day. Nearly two decades after first seeingit, in mid-2012, I finally got my hands on one. And it’s even a solid, low number (40 to be precise) one. It remains one of my favorite items in a very large collection of Boba Fett memorabilia. And I didn’t even have to save my allowance for 80 weeks.
