determining helmet style?

bigkidbiggertoys (bkbt) did make some. I don't know if he still does. I took measurements from the resin one that came with my bucket and had my local machine shop cut one out of aluminum for me. I think they charged me like 15 or 20 bucks.

^Like Chris said, looks like a Fang, but the 3-hole borden does look a little wonky. If it is indeed a Fang, or a recast of one, then one of BKBT's al. stalks will fit perfectly. As of less than a month ago he was still making and selling em.
My Fang got a little warped from being crammed in a box for a long period of time, and had that mandible pinch on the same side. Once I got the visor stuck in there it was fixed.

alright thanks. and i know, i'm bastard who painted it. i'm also having dificulty finding a color finding the right color for the stripes and the triangle thing.

Right here man, -> http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showthread.php?t=27232

The borden connector is the mole on the right side of the left cheek of the helmet. It has three holes of various sizes.

Also I looked for rustoleum colors and found Leafy Green. It is in the Satin Paint section of the rustoleum paints.

Recast I would say for sure off of a fang. Close to mine but off enough for recasting flaws. As for ROTJ paint...Is there a walmart by you? You can get it all done in one stop, at least I like how my ROTJ turned out. BTW not sure if you know, but the ROTJ has an entirely different Rangefinder than ESB and SE. how are your keyslots in the back? For your kill strips I would recommend Luckydesigns (not sure of screen name off the top of my head). You can get ROTJ or ESB weathered or not..looks good to me.

i actually have it like ninety percent painted. what is the difference between the range finders? and i kleft the keyslots in because i like the way that looks better.

With the ESB and SE you have the black (I believe it to be a poloroid part but don't quote me on that) screen on the bottom and with the ROTJ you have a clear rangefinder with three green lines in the clear part. Best thing to do is go on Bobamakers site and click the Boba rangefinder. The one with the green lines is ROTJ and the way to go, that is if you want to do a full out ROTJ. I don't know if you are going cannon or not but ROTJ only has that rangefinder where ESB and SE have the other one (those have the really involved paint job on the buckets). Also you left the keyslots in...good boba is suppose to have keyslots, but I was just wondering of the quality of the slots. Seen alot off ebay that have very poor slots so that right there could tell if it is a recast or not.
cheers!

yeah, the rotj RF topper is missing the little polaroid lens.

depending on the topper kit you get, you might either just be able to not install the lens, or sand it off if it's all molded solid.

when i've done rotj rangefinders that were molded in opaque resin, i've painted the "clear" part an off white color that sort of looks the part. as good as you can get without it being clear.

i have to confess that i don't real bother with the green lines in mine. my topper is molded out of solid clear resin, and i painted the black parts. so drilling in to make the lines would be too much of a pain for such a little thing :)

on my main trooping helmet i have the MR rangefinder with a new clear insert piece i made to replace the battery cover.
