how do you know which helmet style is which? i bought my helmet from a guy on ebay and he bought it from a TDHer but he never disclosed which style it is. i kinda need to know because i've almost finished the painting and now i need a stalk and visor but i don't know which to buy... any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
dylan.

what kind of bucket is this (other than a badly painted one)?

alright thanks. and i know, i'm bastard who painted it. i'm also having dificulty finding a color finding the right color for the stripes and the triangle thing.

would a mystery rf stalk fit in this one then? cause i'm almost certain that it is a re cast. and thanks, it's my first attempt with the right paints. my first was really bad with meadow green and racing red lol.

If more people can confirm on the "Mystery" of this helmet, then we can understand what works and what wont. The paintjob is good, but I think for the back you should have used a brighter green.

edit- However, if it really is a mistery helmet, which I think so as well, then yes a mystery stalk would work. Sgt. Fang is pretty busy from what I understand, but try pming him. It might take a while to get back to you.

its hard to tell because the visor is werid if there inst that bump in the top of the visor and the ear is attached its a mystery helm

Not too much of an ROTJ Buff, however. I would say go with Krylon Emerald Green. spray on a base coat of that, and mist over it very little with black to darken it. Do not mix gloss with matte either, because any matte paint will crack over gloss paint.

Hunter green is too blue in the back.

Go to www.thedentedhelmet.com/reference, and click on the Magic of Myth pictures, check out the helmet from different angles and you will get an idea of what to get.

Now back on topic.

the visor is wierd because when i bought it, it was severly mis shapen so i reshaped it and that was a result but when i attach the ear pieces, it fixes the problem.

i'll look into getting that, but it's hard to find krylon anything near where i live, all they have is rust-o-leum and i don't really want it glossy, i bought some stuff that might take it off, but the home depots near my hosue have never even heard of dullcote. is there another name for it?

from the front, the offset of the mandibles, it looks like that master replicas pinch. but then it also has curved cheek corners, the lower back of the ear section aren't parallel with the bottom of the helmet, and the built in ear base make me think it's a sarge fang. for a visor, the best place is probably that ebay guy, i must have bought at least 4 from him so far. and the stalk, as far as i can tell, resin stalks cost about the same as a bkbt aluminum, and i'd go with the aluminum for durability, and that it's already metal.
