Dansam ESB Paint UP!

Hey everyone thx for the comments, Ive been away for a week having a break with the family now back to business, ok so Im onto the silver now, because I'm doing this topically I've thinned the silver humbrol 11 down a lot, you find that the metallic floats to the edges giving it a bit of depth, so I stenciled the large silver area now I am going to do the grey areas then come back to the silver so Im gonna use the polyscale reefer grey, just got to get the stencils arranged and cut!

Looks great. Out of curiosity, where do you scale / adjust the templates? Do you do it in Silhouette Designer or in something like Photoshop first?

Hi mate I do it in silhouette using the grid as reference for dimensions, its not accurate but its good enough,

Ive just added some reefer grey and base grey I need to add some more greeny blue, its looking a little rough it needs tidying with a fine brush.........im tempted to start again but I can't this is the, almost 14th I think time so this is gonna have to do

My temptation was too strong I rubbed it down and started it again but instead of using a brush through the stencil I used my airbrush, I think it paid off its cleaner and sharper, now lets get these panels finished and out of my head!!!!

Well at last after 14 attempts Im happy with the back panels, still some work to do on them but nearly finished, Ive started roughing the greeny blue up with some course wire wool to break that poster paint look and theres some areas still to be painted, then onto the dome I think, hooray something different to paint, I might have to take a break as Ive got to finish my Destiny hard light everybody wants to know when its gonna be ready so i might go back to that then resume the bucket when I'm finished.

Just a quick update, I got the back panels finished, just needs some more scratches and weathering, I put the base colors of the dome, lower cheeks and the upper, and some weathering on the lower cheeks before the damage, i did my kill stripes but unfortunately I had 2 3d printers on the go and kept checking them went back to my killstripes and took the masking off before I put the orange down ahhhhhhh!

So next will be the killstripes, again!

oh a couple of pics of the back panels weather slightly,

Also for the dome color, I used humbrol green 78 as suggested mixed with a windsor newton blue acrylic, toned down with white then tamiya field grey added, this was used for the base then dusted with the humbrol green 78, then compound rubbed making it patchy and faded in areas.

I was worried checking in on this one that you may have started over again lol!!!
Looks awesome man. Would love to get my hands on some good stencils for an FPH2.

lol this is actually stressing me out lol, once I've finished painting the bucket ill be able to do the stencils, I'm just working and sizing as i go, but I'm saving the files as i go so i should be able to make a few sets

the kill strip stencils came out really well, but they have to be cut and placed individually to compensate for the curve

thx ma man, appreciate the praise(y) if you want to start your FPH2 I can probs make the back panel stencils, just need to get some more masking film ill let you know!

finally got the Kill stripes done, I used UP Armour yellow and blended the humbrol orange 82, then gave it a seriously good rub down to tone the color down,

This is looking really good. I really like the color mix you went with for the blue/green on the back panels. It looks more accurate than the standard humbrol mix.

Your colors are looking great. Wouldn't change a thing. I always get to this point viewing someone's thread and look forward to the red.
