Very nice work, you're right about the scale of the damage, it's real easy to make it slightly too large, i find you almost need to make it more compact...the scale on your paint up looks spot on...
thanks guys, appreciate the feedback! TF, you are a pro here, so that means alot brother! :cheers
got some of the grey down on the right upper mandible, been working on that area for awhile now...SOOOOOO much detail that i am really trying to pull off of the stencils...it is a 2-edged sword, for sure! so much fun doing this type of detail, but man it is difficult...:wacko i am very pleased with how it is coming along...i know there are some silver details that need to be added in, and of course more of the grey areas need to be finished up, but this is where i ended up last night...
yes sir! #0 brush and hours of studying those **** stencils! i should be able to paint this with my eyes closed by now...:wacko thanks for the kind words, brother...:cheers
ahhh, progress...:cheers finished up the silver and lark dark grey on the lower mandibles, and have now begun above the right mandible...now, i have only been doing the silver and lark dark grey, and want to get those 2 colors finished up before i go back and detail with maroon... this is where i am at the moment...will continue to work into the evening...
Hey, excellent! Boba has a face now!
I know what you mean about seeing those shapes with your eyes closed. That right mandible is a killer.
Isn't it strange how sort of stark it looks with only the silver/gray? But once you go back and add the maroon, it looks right! Great work, man.
thanks brother! yep, got him somewhat of a face now... and ya, once that maroon goes down it will all tie together...
now, as i am going across the top, and getting to the left part of the mandible, i have seen in some of your threads, brother, some pics you put side by side of the MoM and screen pics of the left side of the helmet...well, i know that the crack up there is on the MoM, but not on the screen used helmet...i have really studied your pics, the Mom pics, and the screen pics, and it is pretty clear to me that there isnt much silver so to speak between the tvisor and earcap on the left side of the helmet...am i correct in saying that? any input is greatly appreciated everyone on this topic...i have begun on that area, kind of combining the screen shots, MoM pics, and superjedi's rendition, and will post some pics up once i have it nailed down to what i feel is going on in that area, and of course after what anyone wants to input...comparison pics would be great!! thanks guys! :cheers
well, here is what i have done on that area as mentioned above...the pic i found isnt totally clear when printed out, but i think there is enough for me to work with, along with the stencils and other reference pics... please let me know what you guys think, and any feedback is appreciated here...:cheers
thanks for all the encouragement, fellas! much appreciated! :cheers can't wait to get this bad boy finished up...:wacko
i have completed, for the most part (few of the dark grey areas still needed) the silver and grey on the mandibles...i attempted the area up at the corner of the left side of the tvisor, and feel really good about the outcome... next up, the maroon to finalize the detail, then onto, oh, maybe the catscratch, but probably the cheeks...:rolleyes thanks for looking, and the continued support, brothers!
