Boba Riddell helmet interior

okay, i just made a mold of the box in the back of the helmet. i pealed the clay out, and man, i do have to say, it turned out pretty good. there are some mistakes, but, overall, it turned out pretty good. now, i am going to use some of the Plasti dip for it, cause, i would hate to have something hard in the back of my helmet. i'll let you guys know how it turns out.

yea, if they turn out pretty good...as in the real thing, then, i might make more, and sell them on ebay. i'm not too sure if it would be a "Hot" item, but, its worth a shot. :)

okay, i just made a fiberglass peice from my mold. i am painting them as we speak. this is not my faivorate one out of the bunch i've made, so, i will probally put these 3 peices up on ebay. how much would you guys probally pay for some of this riddell helmet stuff???
thanks,
~Michael

yea, sorry i haven't posted any pics. anyway, i have made the side peices out of risen, and fiberglass. they turned out pretty good. i need to make a few modifications, but, its coming out pretty good. i have made the back box, and need to make a mold of it. once i get some plaster, i will make a mold, and then, cast it from fiberglass, and risen. i'll probably sell the peices on ebay this month. :)

I found a Icecube tray laying around and I made a test to see if it could be used, I failed, However I was going through old clothes and found a kneepad that is put inside a pocket on a workpants and it had similar shape as to the padding in the riddele helmet. I´m gonna go to the warehouse and try to find something similiar beacause the one I had were to badly worn and covered with oil. I was thinking about diping it in the plasti dip, I tried it on a pice of sponge that I had and it worked well but these knee pads have a smoother surfce.

hey, thanks for the info. post some pics when you get a chance. i wish i thought of that. that helps me out a ton.

I´m at work right now but I have a couple of pieces drying at home, will take pics and post. These are turning out great.

They don´t look exactly like the Riddell pads but they look great though.

I think those pads in the helmet were specially made for the riddell version. I´ve looked over a ton of football helmets and have not seen that version although the shape looks the same on individual pieces

Here are some pics

ya know what, i had a thought last night. i was thinking that all this would be cool and all to have in my helmet, but, then i was thinking, is it going to be worth it all? i think it will be cool when its done, and i'll be happy with the results, but, its sure taking me a long time. i hate being a perfectionist. i'll try to get a camera this week, and take some pics of my S.....L.....O.....W.... progress.

Those things are knee pads from builders pants you tuck them under a pocket in the front of the knee. You should try hardwarestores for those pads.

No, i never finished them all the way just glued a couple together, but they looked great when painted, but I could not fit my head in the helmet if I would have put them in so it kinda was a waist of time for me.
