Boba converted kids lid

Cruzer

Well-Known Hunter
Hey guys, I converted one of my kid Jango lids into a Boba and just wanted to share the process I used for any other dads that may be doing this down the road. I now just need to build the scaled rf stalk and topper to match, and figure out what to do for the Borden on the cheek. Please let me know if I've missed anything.
Thanks,
Cruzer

Thanks guys. I'll get on those holes tomorrow after work, I completely forgot about them. Thanks for catching that.

I'm far from being dad of the year, trust me. This is actually for a friend's son. I'll post a few pics once I've put some paint on it, but here's a size comparison pic next to a BKBT for now.

zxwing, glad I could help. I already know your son's suit will look awesome with you working on it! :)

Lookin good :)

And haha our tastes for perfection even adults miss let alone a child. He won't notice the difference. He will be too focused on putting it on ,)

Thanks. I couldn't find the recommended color locally for the ear, so I improvised and used a lighter tan misted with gold and then lightly abraised with steel wool. It looks more solid gold in the pic. It's not perfect but it'll work for this 6 year old kid who will also be getting his first Boba 3.75" and 18" figures this Christmas. Unfortunately with my very limited painting skills this late in the game, I'm going for a quick paint job that's somewhere in between an MR and Hasbro.

Cruzer, what do you charge for one of those kids helmets? I need one for my 7 yrs old boy, thanks!

:)

I usually ask $150 shipped for the gel-coated fiberglass version when I can find the time to make them. And that would be with a movable cold cast rf that has a 1/8" steel armature for durability. A cold cast fiberglass version would be $50 more. The only problem is that life and the adult sized armor keeps me busy, so I typically don't make them unless I have some extra time on my hands.
