I don't know if there is an actual correct timing. I go with a 1 second cycle, so half second per LED.

I think somewhere around here, brak's has a "correct" blink pattern animated picture, along with one for the chest lights.
update: yup, from the main page www.thedentedhelmet.com before you get to the forums, click on brak's buddy's webpages and there's a link to several things including the blink patterns for the rangefinder and chest lights

Wow, I didn't realize the LED's blinked that fast. Thanks for the link. I will have to make some changes on my circuit.
