    Dec 28, 2007, 5:39 PM - Best Helmet for $200-$250 #1

I am brand spankin' new here and I would like some guidence on what's the best bucket for the $200-$250 range. I just missed out on this "mystery" helmet for $200. What do you think. Anyone got one better for the same price. I am not too stuck on the slight inaccuracies...

if you want to paint it yourself ,and there are many tutorials on this site on how to do it ,put that 250 into a bobamaker helmet .they are the nicest helmets anyone is making at this time

BobaMaker is the only readily available Boba Fett helmet in the $250 price range. I have one and love it. However, there are other helmet's like the FPH that are available when runs are open. Keep a keen eye! That's how I was able to score my armour.

I saw that auction. I don't believe that it is a "Mystery Helmet", or that it has "Mystery Helmet" origins. I think that is a modified "Altmans" australian helmet. Mainly because of the SUPER thick mandibles. It's definately been reworked, whatever it is. But the mandibles are a giveaway. So it's probably best you didn't get it, you would have probably regret it.

    Welcome aboard !

The range finder top and stock are resin on that helmet!

That is why it going for a good price but, you'll upgrade those in no time, if you had won it.

I am also looking for an accurate helmet kit. I get the enjoyment out of working on them, not hunting down the pieces.

I personally like the fang helmet(great starter helmet), as well as the FPH.

BM helmet is nice but i think its smaller in size... correct me if I'm wrong.

plus the dent isn't spot on... imo

here is a pic of my Fang...minus the ear cap fix.

and i did use BM's pics for ref as well.

My next bucket is the FPH!!

we can go on w/this forever....

bobafyfe, get whatever you can afford, keep in mind paint , tools, glues, t-visor...etc cost $$ and adds up fast.

My fang "mystery" kit was $95 (he had a sale w/free shipping)
    *Extras*
    $60 for paints
    $20 t-visor
    $25 metal stalk
$20 for sintra to make mod parts
    $20+ for bolts, glues, brushes..etc
    and lots of free time.

so it can add up....but you'll know what i'm talking about soon.

If you don't mind painting go for a fang helmet. 85+shipping isn't bad. You can get a rangefinder stalk for about 20 and visors aren't too expensive either. For under $150 with some time you can have a nice helmet.

I agree. The cold cast made it so much easier to paint, and it's a very nice bucket accuracy wise. I will recommend a TF bucket anyday.
