Aurora (Helmet)***Update 3***

Ok here's where I am at at this point. I just finished the striping it looks a little bright but the paint is still fresh and I haven't started the weathering process so no worries. I did these in natural light with no flash so they are a little dark. The ears are just hot glued on to test fit before being sent to be copied and made into metal so forgive the cheesy look.


Here's one next to Nathan's you can see how the mandible turns colors after messing with it a bit.



Another one that shows how freaky these colors can be at different angles both helmets are the same color.


Just a shot off the bench. With still quite a ways to go.

Hey thanks again I know some things look off and bright but the weathering will take care of it. Let me get a little bit further and I'll zap you guys some colors.

When you guys findout the colors you're going to be pissed at first because you are going to be in a state of disbelief because like me you have this mental impression of how it should look and it's not like that in real life. But the good thing is you'll love it.

Man o' Man Lee those helmets are awesome. You really know your stuff. Cant wait to hear what these colors are. Probably something so ridiculas it wont even make sense. Either way keep up the good work. Have you started on the back yet?

Thanks again I appreciate the support. I haven't really started the back yet I needed to get Nathan's helmet caught up with Chris's and then I'll move back there I was planning on it soon though. That is one color I have not completely isolated yet. But it may end up being one paint I have to go the mix route although what I have on there now looks goofy but in real life it's really close and actually looks green but photos blue truly odd (I like it). The back is really intense way more than the front and I'm still out on the techinique used so that is another slow down plus still working on matching a few colors these were the toughest and not taken for comparison by Chris or Nathan from my origial stuff at AOSW.

I don't believe they are available anymore (a very limited run was made), and it is doubtful that anyone would be willing to part with theirs shy of hard times. I know mine won't be leaving my hands, er, head.

Thanks everyone I appreciate it. If there was only one helmet to do I would make better progress but two at once is really tough initially but it helps me get my system down. I just got the stripes toned down big time and my progress pics should of the back and then I'll finsh up the trim and mandibles and then move on to like step 7.

Do we have any more updates? Are we close to finishing? Still waiting patiently to see what you used. Just had this little itch so had to scratch it .

Hey Sorry about being so slow. I'm on to the back right now once I finish that it won't be long. Not playing any head games and I appologize I know you folks are ready to roll on your helmets. I haven't had time to confirm the back plate color as well so we may have to go with what I have until it gets ID'd later. I ahve been so busy with these two helmets I haven't had much time to post but I have set a goal of having them done in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the update Lee. Im sure that everyone else is just as excited about these colors as I am but I know two guys that would really like you to take your time and get it right which you have done so far. Keep up the good work.

Still a long way to go. The stripes will be lightened when I hit the weathering.



Here's the back less the silver looks kind of funny right now and the keyslots are still being hashed out.

I sent in a request today see about exposing the green if I get the green light (no pun intended)tomorrow will be a good day.

Ha ha ha ha... IT WORKED!!!! :evil No rush man, just keep doing your thing, we here at TDH have all sorts of patience!

The jury is still out on few colors and the green is the one I'm most positive about and since I do have access to the real one I I'll only go as far as to say I'm 99% sure the green is the real deal(due to my info). The dark gray is also a high probabilty too but in my research I am finding new colors everyday.

Threats always work . I'm sure Fett got by by making a ton of threats but the problem is he followed through with them haha.
