What are your ears made of. thats always significantIf they are resin. I use a dremel and bevel out a dime size indention. I get T nuts from home depot (#8) and short bolts, and washers with nylon on them.
I glue the T nuts into the ear piece, then drill holes in the helmet. use the bolts and washers inside.
I use superglue under the T nut, then over the T nut, with accelerator it locks it in really hard. if you want to ever get it out. just screw your screw in too far, and it will pop it off, but I cant get them off by hand.
I just used Goop on my helmet. The helmet I made for MandalorFett, I put some screws in. I drilled holes in the helmet first, then I put the ears on, marked where I should place the screws, then drilled them big enough so the head would fit. Then I put the screw in and JB Welded it in place, so you could place the ear on, then use a nut to tighten it in place.
If you had my aluminum ear sets they come with threaded holes and hardware.
