Another scratchbuilt.

My GOD Kripps....and this started from a batting helmet? Hard to believe the level of skill and overall artistic ability some of you people have(y) ! Lemme ask ya...all in all...how much did it cost you to scratchbuild this thing (starting from the helmet, bondo, sintra, parts, etc all the way to the paint)? Just curious to know because with effort and patience this just goes to show that a lot of us can have a really great looking prop if we follow your lead. Please keep providing us with tutorials and more of your Fett props to drool over. Outstanding work my friend!

In all honesty, it didn't cost much at all. It's more the time and trail and error that's "expensive".
I figure I spent about 60-70 bucks on everything start to finish. Paint being the most expensive part of it. I had alot of the necessary tools already (dremmel, small ryobi sander, brushes and such)....The plastic was free and of course I had to by the batting helmet for the base and the welding sheild for the visor, plasti-weld, a small can of bondo and various grits of sand paper.
The most important asset was this site and everyone who has poured knowledge and their experiences into the forum. The pictures, measurements, comments and opinions of some members here are priceless in my eyes.TDH rules!

Excellent Work. Any particular Batting helmet used? I see a lot of Rawlings and Cooper at the second hand store for a couple of bucks.

I didnt think mine was horrible... yorus looks wonderful man. how long did all that take you?

Thanks Kissker. It took about a month and a half to finish this one.
I added a pic up top of me wearing the bucket for scale I guess........I'm about 5'11'' lean build........I think it looks about right for my size.

Very cool! I am 6'4" with a "generous" build. Do you have any WIP pics of this thing? With the size of my melon, I'm thinking I'll HAVE to scratch build. I'm just not sure how to go about it.

Do you have any simple suggestions you could send my way???

Truly beautiful work, btw!
