another ESB paint job

humbrol enamels i've used:
base grey: 79 lightened slightly with 64
dome and cheeks: 78
upper cheeks: 33.
dark purple on mandibles/trim: 73+96+33.
red on mandibles/trim: 73.
L/H ear: 28 then 60 then 78 with a touch of 159.
R/H ear 94.
kill stripes: 154 faded to back with a touch of 82.
Helmet back: 28 with a dash of 103, then 76 and 96 for the blue/ green, green/blue.

these are the colours Terminal Fettler used and I think they work well.
Hey Ronin, i used 120 on the dome and cheeks on my second helmet, this is slightly more olive, i would also use just 79 on these areas, not lightened with 64 , pointless info as you've already painted it, but it might come in usefull next time;)

I'm confused! Too many numbers, it was 78 not 120 on my second helmet, 120 was on my first, oh well, any way good progress on the paint job!

We do have halloween over here, but its not as much as a big deal. Personally I don't like Halloween, all the scummy kids seem to think it's the perfect opportunity to lose all morals - if they have any in the first place that is!:confused

i agree. the kids around my way seem to think its just an excuse to get money out of people. Still i do dress up and hand out sweets to the youger ones that come knocking. Last year i was vader and my wife dressed up as the Tooth Fairy (albiet a slightly scary one  ), the kids loved it. "Trick or trea.........pause mid sentance as they clock the vader costume. :)

but yer most of the kids need a swift kid up the back side :angry

btw I painted the grey on the back of the bucket last night. Its a real ar$e because the grey paint went on slightly too thick and has run. So tonight i plan to sand it down, repaint the grey and then topically repaint the silver scratches

I plan to be locking myself in a cupboard rocking back and forth everytime the door bell rings!

That's a bummer about the grey, but sand it down and try again.

Well it was bound to happen. Although i will finish the paint job i have started, I am already contemplating repainting it to be more screen accurate. The trouble is i need a painted bucket in time for an event in the near future. Still may be i might do it in time for Christmas.

I think i have gotten an 'obsessive compulsive disorder'

I think OCD is pretty much par for the course when it comes to this hobby!

How else would I explain 4 buckets?! I've barely started my forth and already I'm contemplating getting a fifth!

I really should concentrate on finishing one project before starting another!

Tell me about it. Painting one bucket, trying to make another bucket, making a jet pack, looking at making a speeder bike, and even contemplating making a wearable set of Space Marine armour.

Dan, I think we are all over due for a trip to the funny farm

Space Marine armour? I like the sound of that!

Yep take a look at these kiddie. I am sure I can pull a set of this together.
