It's in direct sunlight and still wet (just got done). Let me know what you guys think of the color. I'm eager to throw the RLM 73 on there to see how it all blends!

What's the texture supposed to feel/look like on the helmet? I can't remember if it was slightly grainy at all on my last helmet; I'm looking for constructive criticism. I am thinning humbrol paints 1:1, paint to thinner. I'm not sure if I'm painting too far away, or if I'm just not putting enough coats on.
Thanks

Alex

uploadfromtaptalk1439741661439.jpg solved my aforementioned issue, with the help of superjedi.

Threw down a coat of the green 78, not opting for a custom green at this time, maybe for my GMH.

I'll be redoing the black upper cheeks as I'm not happy with how they turned out. And a little of the green bled through the masking fluid AND masking tape...

I have redone almost every section on my current paint up, and will probably continue to redo them.

There is no harm in continuing to try to get it to the point you want.
Thanks Mullreel, I was pretty frustrated at this point and felt I screwed everything up, so your post was a good pick me up.

No problem it is simply the truth. It is one of the curses of spending so much time here on TDH. We want it done not only well enough but durn near perfect. I have learned a ton in the last two helmet paints I have done. I hope that as I continue to do more I can hone my skills and get things right or at least close enough the first time.

It is only paint. It can come off just about as easy as it goes on........or cover it with the next layer as easily as the last layer went on.

Just keep on keeping on.

Your an atrtist. That's what they do. It's not perfect till they think it's perfect. And it's not done till they think it is. Just keep at it but know when to stop lol.
