    Amiadfilter IS Zombiebuddy22. BEWARE.

I bought a "Mystery" helmet on eBay for $85.00. To my knowledge, it looks to be a recast of a Sgt. Fang or MSH. After some researching on the subject (which I admit, I should have done before purchasing it), I found out that a former seller, amiadfilter, sold a similar helmet. So I found out the seller's real name (Geoff Higgins). The seller of the bucket I purchased has the account name "Zombiebuddy22." However, on my bank statement, the paypal payment was to a "Geoff Higgins" as well. I have yet to receive the helmet, but I will keep you posted. There is a chance that he has realized the err of his ways and is selling an honest product. We shall see.

Well, jedi, i'm not going to have you paint a helmet of inferior quality. I just won't. I am through with eBay for costuming purposes. I have learned my lesson.

Well, Melvin Fett, I'll tell ya. . . it's kinda frustrating for some of us who have been around for a while, and have heard who the "naughty" vendors are, to hear some of the newer folks sound so excited about a purchase, and then get told "Oh you bought from him??? Good luck!"
Usually by that time there's nothing you can do but wait till your product gets to you and hope for the best.
That's why I really recommend doing some research before laying down any $$$ for something.

I had purchased a helm from Zombie. After a month, the item has not been sent to me yet. I was getting antsy, only to find out that his items are ****. Thanks to TDH, I have been able to convince him to return my money due to bad business practice.

I am in school for Law as we speak. There are ways of condemning further business on his behalf. I just hope that everyone who considers buying on Ebay has the chance, as did I, to know just what they are buying.

If he receives multiple negative feedback, he will be forced to change names again. Everyone keep your eye out!

I understand that. The biggest lesson I've learned from this whole experience is patience. It pays to be thorough.

I just checked and he's just "Zombiebuddy"- The "22" was his feedback rating.

To be honest, it is probably just a mystery helmet, no specific maker.

    Personally I don't have a problem with AmiadFilter/Zombiebuddy.

I know recasting is bad. but I'm not talking about that.

I have two helmets from him, and with a bit of work they can look very, very good.

define very very good? you get one from BM, MS, etc... and they will benear perfect. no blemishes, no seams, etc...

the amidafilter helmet i had was just poorly made. fiberglass not laminated well, sharp bits of mesh sticking out, thin spots, etc...

Well, perhaps it was the specific era you purchased your helmet from (I understand that he had several different stages in his helmets) or perhaps I've just been lucky. The helmet that I have is great. Yeah, it's not perfect, but solidly built and with some work it was very smooth and nice looking.

Quite honestly, after I was done with it looked just like any other helmet.

My helmet is one of these. It wasn't too bad, I guess, when compared to the others I've seen from him. It did have a lot of thick and thin spots, burrs on the inside, and even some air bubbles. Fortunately I have fairly good modeling skills. I took about a month to get and that was after a few emails letting him know I either wanted the goods or my money. The reply was that he was out of town and his room mate was supposed to mail it, but didn't, and he was unaware of a problem. In the end though I got it and even some other stuff that wasn't supposed to be included.

I too bought the same helmet from that guy. I don't know what this guy is using but that bucket weighs like 10bls. I broke all my Dremel tools cutting out the visor slot not to mention that you have to use filler to get those spots that he missed. really really poor quality. I now use it as an ashtray I recently bought a bucket from SgtFang, I heard that his are really nice but I'm still waiting on it. it's been over three weeks now but I'll let ya know when it arrives. I'm having SuperJedi paint it, so i know it will look awesome.

    good luck Bounty!!!!!!

SgtFangs require some Cleanup, but from the sounds of it, you already have the experiance!

Im in the middle of cleaning up a new SgtFang, and its a pretty bucket so ^_^, needs some Bondo and some sanding, but its not too bad, mostly Amateur Craft stuff.

I hope you like yours as much as I like mine!

It definitely looks oblong, I don't even know if the earcaps would lay flush and flat on the helmet.

I posted back in July/Aug that amiadfilter was zombiebuddy, and to be aware. Still haven't heard did you get your bucket yet? Don't be surprised if it takes an excessive amount of time due to his "Beware I travel alot" disclaimer that he used under all of his various names postings. This guy is real nasty, and sent me an e-mail stating " I don't want my helmet rated or compared on the TDH forum" by you guys, when I asked him if it was a re-cast of who's original work.

No they will not, without work. I now have Melvin's bucket. I don't support recasting in any way. I worked out a deal, just to have something to practice my painting on, and body work. If it is recast, I am not sure of what. It's definantly not an MSH, its a little smaller and a lot of differences from my MSH1. I would also say it is definantly not a Bobamaker or TF. It also does not appear to be a Sgt Fang either. I don't know about MS buckets, but from the pictures I have seen, I would almost rule that out as well. So, I guess there is the possibility that it is original work, that is poorly cast. It has a lot of flare, too much really. It is also quite heavy, and needs a lot of sanding/filling. The resin parts are very poor. I can fix most of it, but the rangefinder ear is almost a lost cause. The back of the helmet is a bit warped, and will be a challenge. I will say that the shape of the dent is really actually pretty good. I will have a progress thread up eventually, once I get a few projects out of the way.

Ok after a mess of emails back and forth with zombiebuddy (amiadfilter) I send the zombie helmet back and got a refund. To his credit he refunded the full amount as soon as I provided a tracking number, so I'm only out the 13 bucks to ship it back which I can live with, although he shouldnt be selling that junk and switching ebay names whenever his feedback rating gets too low.

My fault for not doing my research before buying.

No I was one of the fortunate ones who didn't purchase from him. At the time I was looking for a helmet as a spare, and prior to purchase was doing a little research on which one to purchase. SgtFang was moving his shop and couldn't deliver one, so I checked eBay and thats when I ran into amiadfilter. E-mailed him, and that when he asked if I was a member of TDH. I said , yes, and then didn't hear from him for quite awhile. I went onto TDH to research him and his helmet. He e-mailed me back eventually that he "wouldn't sell me a helmet because I would review it and post it on TDH." During the research, I then discovered complaints on this forum that his helmets that were of such poor quality, received after excessive delays, thin/thick areas of glass build up,and some were received damaged or missing parts.
Since then I have watched his "name change", the negitive feedback starting all over again, and trying to warn everyone to make their purchase from someone on TDH not, eBay. If you noticed he no longer has a current posting on eBay, I wonder if he is switching names again?

I know that AmiadFilter sells some pretty ****** casts, but I mean really...I don't think it's necessary for us to avoid him like the plague.

Anyone with some decent modelling skills could make something of his helmets. I've done it twice.

It really should be more along the lines of "Beware of AmiadFilter. He sells recasted helmets of a very low quality. HOWEVER, if you are willing to spend some extra time retrofitting the thing, then go for it as it can produce a fine product with some work."

IMHO, we're making this guy out to be alot worse than he really is...

Why buy a poor quality recast when you can get an original from Sgt. Fang for nearly the same price? Doesn't make sense to me.

I only asked if you bought one because I thought maybe you got a bad one, the fact that you didn't ever actually buy anything makes it seem a little odd that you would devote so much attention to his sales. I'm not bashing you but I don't have that kind of time. I guess I'm with Mercke Lutso on this one, I too got one of his a long time ago. I put it together and have been pretty happy with it ever since. I guess we all have different priorities though. Rockken, glad it worked out for you. HMPOTC33, I mean you no harm, thanks for responding.

The point is that you're making way too much work for yourself when you can get a far better bucket for a comparable price.

I think the worst part is that "he" has cast and sold so many buckets yet still hasn't got it down yet. Or maybe its just sloppy work on purpose...who knows.

I know that some people have gotten some buckets that weren't that bad and were made into some nice helmets, but there have been some that have been delivered unapologetically warped, cracked, or with holes where the fiberglass was way too thin or almost non-existant.

The sad thing is that it wouldn't take "him" much more time than what "he" already puts in to put out a nice (albeit recast) bucket.

Sticking up for or defending this guy is'nt needed and everyone should avoid this guy. There's no reason to cheat anyone and since this guy is trying to make alot of money on other peoples expense, then he should be treated like radiation and the plague. Are you his business partner? lol

    i can't disagree enough!

he sells poor quality helmets for the same or more money as reputable members of TDH.

why spend the $100 on a **** one on ebay when you can get a fang one that's actually usable without a ton of work.

i had one of the early amidafilter helmets and it was TERRIBLE. i've since had a variety of others, and every last one was a LOT better.

i'd take one of the bradleyfett styrene ones over the amidafilter/zombiewhatsit helmets any day.

i guess my feelings toward this person can be summed up like this: why give money to some random person who clearly has no regard for this community?

Ah screw it, I'm out of here. There's obviously no point in trying to reason with you guys.

If you used reason, you'd realize avoiding that guy like the plague is the smart thing to do.

I think I have worked on most of the known boba helmets thats out there.
And I definitly can say zombiebuddy´s (or whatever his name will be in past and future) helmet is one of the worst you can get for that money.

At the moment Im working on a Fang helmet and all I can say is:
Sgt. Fang Helmet - Top product for an absolute fair price

    Just my 2 cent
