American Accents Oregano for RotJ bucket
haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere, but Rusto American Accents "Oregano" looks to be the best match I've seen for the dome and cheeks on the RotJ bucket. At least for the top coat, with a few accent colors misted over it.) It's a great olive drab / camo green. Seems to be readily available as well. I tried Rusto Sage as my top coat and just wasn't happy. Sanded the whole thing down to start over. Anyone else used "Oregano"?

Re: American Accents Oregano for RotJ bucket
Look's pretty close. I use a similar color called Krylon 'Italian Olive' on my RotJ buckets.
Re: American Accents Oregano for RotJ bucket
The problem I've had with Oregano and Olive is that they look too much like the color you see when you look at the RotJ helmet :)
That sounds odd, but here's what I mean:
When you look at closeups of the original prop, there's a lot of depth to the color. It's not just green... there are mists and spatters of a bunch of colors that, when looked at from further away, end up coming out about like the italian olive.
If you start with something that's already that color, you can't really mist and blend anything else over it, since that will mess it up.

Exactly what I wanted to say, STG u always pinpoint what I want to say...the ROTJ helmet is a lighter green misted making it darker, u can really see it on the cheeks
Re: American Accents Oregano for RotJ bucket
Been doing some tests on scrap. I'm discovering that a base coat of Oregano, followed by misting of spruce, anodized bronze, (then let dry) and finally some hand detailing with dry brushing of testor's rubber & black mixed is looking fantastic for a top coat.
The Oregano isn't quite green enough, so there's some room to develop textures via misting colors over it.
