Am I tall enough to be boba fett?

gaogaigar

Hunter
Hello,

As the title suggests I'm new and would like to know if I am the right height and size for boba fett. I apologize in advance if this in the wrong section.

I am 5 ft 9.5 inches and a muscular 155 pounds, regular build though. Why the obsession with the height? Well I had a little misguided adventure trying to put a vader suit together. Boy that was ugly....

I'm well aware of the time commitment, research, and cost needed to do a good job on Boba Fett so I'd like to ask for your opinion first before I dive into this project. Thanks in advance

5'9.5"...

You know what I tell people if they ask about height and all that and if people think they can pull off the costume?

I tell them to not worry about others. Do the costume because YOU want to do it. We're all here because we fell in love with the character of Fett. The mystique, the character, the idea of a notorious bounty hunter who's the best out there!

Some of us are taller than others, some of us are bigger that others but it makes no difference. Why? Because we're all doing a costume of a character we love!

So, bottom line... if you like the costume, and want to build it... GO FOR IT! Let no one stop you or discourage you from it!!!!!!

i'm 5'8" and i'd like to think it comes off ok:

decent space between the belt and armor (and this armor slightly bigger than my newer stuff), gauntlets / helmet / etc... all look reasonable.

the only time i ever look at someone and think that they are way too big/small/thin/heavy/whatever, is when the parts are all WAY out of proportion.

i've seen some vaders where the belt touches the chest box and the chest box touches the armor.... that makes it look squished. but as long as everything is proportioned right, no-one is going to look at you and think "what's up with that?"

Welcome to the dented helmet! i'm sure you'll find lots of info here!

don't worry about height, as long as the costume looks good, your fine. like tk7602 said, as long as it fits you, your fine.

a Vader? i did a vader once, and i didn't look bad. i'm not really tall (and if you read "age" in board issues and requests, you'll get what i mean), just to let you know.

Well I think the question is about how close it he to the avarage Fett height. So can anyone give the various heights of the actors who were in the suit on screen? Ive always thought he looked a bit short. Then again is is standing next to Vader alot so I may have a warped idea of his height:lol:

I also wanted to know if I would make a good Fett but then decided I wasnt that picky and fans sure arent. So I figured my 6ft would be ideal for Stormtroopers, Fett, and Vader as well! (with some big boots)

Here's a pic of my brother in his Rubies Darth Vader costume 'straight out of the box'. We were doing some costume tests, for a fan film I am working on, to see if a shorter person could pull of playing Vader. My brother is only 5' 10", but by adjusting the camera angle he appears much taller. Notice the top of the helmet is in line with the trim on the top of the doors, and they are right at 7'. So 5' 9.5" is plenty tall enough to pull off Boba. Height doesn't seem to be the problem with the Boba costume. For most Boba's, the problem lies in 'girth' (present company included). Fett was a 'stick', and it was his thinness that helped give him that lethal look. But I guess we can thank Don Bies for allowing us 'thicker' Fetts to walk a little taller.

5'9? Aren't you a little short to be a stormtrooper? I mean Boba? Sorry, someone had to throw it in there. I am 5'9 myself, and so far my costume is coming fine. I say keep going with it

Yeah do it man. But can anyone tell me the heights to settle my question and give a bit a info for your future reference gaogaigar?

jeremy is right around 6', and temeura is a bit shorter and stockier. unfortunately i lack real numbers.

so, in essence, i'm canon to the new interpretation of the storyline ;)

I am only 5' 9", but the problem I run into is the gauntlets. I have Ruffkin, and when I put the incompleted parts on, they reach up to my elbo. Therefor making it look silly on me.

tk7602, and han soloway, you are both shorter than me....how do you do it?

Yeah, I'm 5'10''. I first did a Jango and that is the same proportion as Temeura was in the suit. But I decided as of recent to do an ESB fett...but it doesnt bother me if I'm not 6ft even or above. I'm gonna make my suit "KICK A** AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!"

longer arms i guess... the ruffkin gauntlets fit me just right. maybe i wear them lower on my hands?

My ruffkin gauntlets fit great, but mine are ESB, there isn't much of a difference...

I'm 5'9", 5'10" with shoes on, so I think I'm a good height for a Fett. Just as long as you aren't 5'2" and decide to do Vader, height really doesn't matter.

5'8" 150lbs here, and I'd like to think my boba looks proportional.

Wow! Your Fett costume is so good it almost looks like a studio shot!

I'm 5'10", and don't forget the helmet and boots add some height, so it's no big deal if you aren't 6'. Stand next to the 6'1" Vaders to help them feel taller, or stand next to Mirax to make yourself feel like a giant!

i've often referred to myself as a scale replica designed for use next to most of our vaders ;)
