If I'd make a helmet from alumium, how could I make the dome of the helmet.

well... you might be able to do it the basic way(triangles) or you might be able to cut a triangle out of a sheet and go down
down on the edges... just an idea, never done it though, not sure if itd work. im about to start on a scratchbuild =P. good luck in your search though!

Could I like, form a dome with a hamer. (dont know how to explain it).
On a piece of metal pipe with a diameter of 5 cm. But how do u calculate how large the round plate of alluminium is, cus when u make it like a dome the diameter will shrink.

What you're describing is called "raising" and normally done the other way up to your picture above, over a form of some description. Searching on line should get you the details, this is a silver smith used technique i think?

They call the "nakloppen" in the Netherlands. Thanks. Ive found a way to know how big the round plate must be. Just measure the outside of the dome. Lol

you could get the whole thing cnc milled by a machinist but it would probably cost a pretty penny but it would be extremely precise/accurate
