Aluminum ears paint job!

Hey guys,

It's been nearly 2 years since I quit my last Boba Fett, but I've gotten back into it now with the resurgence of quality parts now (namely FPH ;) )

First part I got was the aluminum ears that were custom made for the FPH. After spending a few days, here's how the left ear came out (mine's on the left....obviously :D):

Alot of inaccuracies (hey I tried), but certain wear marks and details came out a bit TOO big. Could be due to rushing the final marks. Oh well.

Other wise, I like how everything came out. Just need to dirty it up a little more. Everythings hand painted by me. I'll do much better on the other ear (and eventually the FPH....when I get it)

Hey Joe.. do not knock yourself bruv!
I think you have done a really great job of both detailing and weathering? I look forward to the right ear progress... (y)

Thanks guys! It actually looks much better in person (I'm sure you've heard that excuse before ;) ). I used a scanner for the pic. But yeah, I guess I am a bit anal. :D

wow, that's awesome. but i'm wondering looking at these pictures side by side, it seems that the center slot on the original was painted a lighter green then the rest, haven't noticed that before.

I think that's because that line is getting a straight shot of the flash. And the left and right parts angle to down, which deludes the flash.

:D

Thanks guys. Now that I have the FPH, it won't be long til I start working on it (after my JP construction).

BTW, I've dirtied the ear a bit more with brown wash on the front side and fixed the center area a bit since taking that pic.

Looks great dude! Yeah I tend to make details a little bigger than original too:facepalm Not sure why that is. Maybe we need to scale our ref pics down a little:confused
