Accurate Fett ears- Finally

Probabilities are that it's an MS1 or some recast thereof. I haven't been around long enough to know if Sarge ever did fiberglass. Maybe the vets can chime in. Either way, it's a mystery, so the ears working on it so well is no surprise...good luck!

Don't know if this will help, but here is another early pic before I primed it. The ear caps were a part of it, along with the rf , stalk and mq-1 board. All the attachments parts were resin.

I know Sarge made a fiberglass one that he sold to TrooperExpert, who I believe later sold it to FP.

It does look like an MS1 kit....but that right gauntlet looks like a Jango! eeek!

I was confused! What I did was the layered paint technique. I primed everything, base coated all the armor in silver then masked the damaged areas before airbrushing on the green. When I had all the armor base colored in silver, I almost went ahead and did a Jango, but I am more a fan of the original trilogy, and Boba has always been one of my favorites.

Lee and SS, steller work, got my ears today and I am impressed. Very good castings. I also like the resin you used... strong and not brittle! Are the tiny cylenders that attach the outer rf earcap to the base magnetic? Very cool attachement!

What I will do to help folks figure out if they can use these on there helmet is I will post a pdf that can be printed that has 1/1 outer shape of the earcaps and this way you can just print, cut out and tape the stencil to your bucket... if it fits you have awnsered your own question! ;) How bout that... and as folks come forward saying it dose or dost fit I will compile a list of what exactly it works with and how well.

That's nearer to the attachment method we think was used on the original prop. The pins go in the holes and mate the inner and outer RF ear caps, but I seriously doubt magnets were used on the original helmet. The pins are more understandable on the real helmet's machined ears.

I always like to see the insides of a prop duplicated as much as the outside, even if they are never seen. Glad you like 'em!

Thanks for popping that stencil up that will be a huge help for everyone. Also the edges might be a little sharp but that is where your weathering skills come in we chose to make them as if new and you wear them down to the point you like.

I've been working crazy hours this week, so didn't have time to post that I got mine 2 days ago.
Thanks for doing these! :cheers

Now what you could do is make an "ear display system" so people can show off these excellent ears!
Something that's. . . oh, I dunno. . . kind of helmet-shaped or something? You must have something sitting around that's helmet-shaped that you could mold up?? Hmmm??? Hmmm???

 ;)

Here is what I have tried them on and what I feel they work on with little to no mods...
MS1, MS2, SgFang.

Dosnt work on the MSH1

This weekend I will try them out on a MS3 and a MSH2.

Lee has left for the FX show in Orlando but he said he would comment on this when he gets back...;)

The MSH1 is not a mystery helmet nor is it close to the correct size, its over sized in every way it can be. If you place the left ear on it you will notice it dosnt cover the entire area, infact its shot by 1 inch.

The MS helmets were made in a similar fassion to the MSH but the sculpt was closer to the size of the real deal so the ears fit great.

The Sarge did indeed work unusualy well with the ears. And by well, I think they match almost flawlessly. From what I understand the MS helmets were builds on a DP95. But the ears do fit quite well on the MS helmets as well. I was suprised that they fit the MS2, but I think the main change on that was simply the dome.
