Accurate Fett ears- Finally

Unfortunately they are small for the MSH-1. Also hit me with dim specifics you folks need just some basics so you can determine if it'll fit. I'm pretty sure they will fit the MSH2 but I think those were slightly bigger too. Just a quick measure the width of the Rf base ear plate is around 1 3/4". Well hopefully everyone understands why I have been in a hole lately and me and SS have been busy so I hope these are a good offering to the plate of things to come....Jet Pack.

What about MS helmets?

I'd say ideal for MS and Sgt Fang helmets....

I just finished measuring the MS and Sgt Fang.

On the left ear of an MS1 or Sgt Fang (and I see no reason to believe other MS's would be different), the total ear space available is around 140 mm. This will fit correctly with the left ear piece.

On the right ear, if you have around 165 mm available in height on your helmet ear (or you can make that much available with putty, etc), you should be right in the ball park. The only variable here being how far apart you choose to place the top RF ear from the bottom RF ear.

As far as width goes, upon receipt, you might be looking at only a few mm's difference from existing ear casts, so it matters very little. Buy them and you won't regret it.

Conclusion. Bobamakers': your ears are cast onto the helmet, so let me know how that goes... MSH's and others: measure your helmets and join in on the fun if they work for you.

(these numbers are measurements of the helmets, not of the ears)

My 2 cents is this is a great opportunity to MOD your helmet to have an accurate set of earcaps. I am very excited. Payment sent by the way!

What I will do when I get my set is take pics with all the helmets I listed and make a pdf with measurement marks that I will send you as a FAQ for the ears. That way if folks have questions about if it will fit, how close it will be ect. You can just toss them the FAQ PDF and your done. It will also be fun to see who got cloesest to the real size.

Hey Lee! First off, it's good to see ya back here!
I am very interested in a set of these, but I have a couple questions.
I pulled out an old progress pic of mine to show what my concern is.
Not sure if I'm the only one with this issue, but the upper part of my right earcap is molded onto my fiberglass helmet. I'm not worried about removing it, but I still am not sure of what "helmet" I actually own:confused. Can you tell by the pic which helmet I have, and if these caps will work on it?

Thanks!

That looks to be a SgFang or possibly a MS1... I only say that because

I can tell by the ear cap having signs of the servo track. Since its a mystery helmet you should need only minor mods to your right ear cap using sanding and bodo to make it work.

I'm not Lee, but I'm going to second the vote for an MS or Fang mystery for these reasons-->

1. The bend in the right mandible
2. The angled lower back corner of the ear area
3. The rounded cheek corner
4. The short RF ear cap

Thanks SS! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!(y) I have been wanting to start a new bucket (bobamaker), so it looks like the time for that will be very soon.

Is it too late to be added to the list for the earcaps?
