About ready to throw in the towel!

They just opened up a Menard's in my area a few weeks ago and they are awesome for Rustoleum paints. They carry an entire isle of Rusto sprays and on another isle I found this:

That is the primer BGHunter was referring to. Reading the can, sounds to me like it is gonna work. Fingers are crossed!!
 
Sounds promising. It says you can use it on glass, ceramic, masonry, wood and it is supposed to prime over grease, mold, wax so I am guessing it will be a good primer!
 
It is down to the CC and even past into the resin in some places. It has been wet sanded with 220 grit and was cleaned with 91% alcohol. I am priming the whole thing with this stuff and then top coating with the gray, hand painting the silver, masking the silver and gray and painting the other colors.
