? about re-doing a Don Post
For those have re-done a Don Post...how hard is it to repaint it? Is it pretty simple to sand or prime , or is it not worth the trouble? I kind want to get a helmet kit from somebody on here, but not sure who to go with. I've got a MR helmet on order, but if it's as nice as the scale version, I won't want to troop in it. I need a good-looking helmet that I can actually wear and not be too scared to mess up. Thanks in advance :)

They're not bad, and easy to repaint. You can use a craft ring in the botom to create a little flare to the helmet. Paint goes on easy, The pic below is of my son's DP95 as a Mando Commando.

Re: ? about re-doing a Don Post
My very first conversion years and years ago was a DP helmet. The only advice I'd have is be careful with enamel paints. If I remember right, there was something about the vinyl that didn't allow the enamel spray paints I used to fully cure. I had to spray a clear sealant over my base coats so they wouldn't feel "tacky" anymore.

Maybe I'll go with a kit instead. I still may get a DP just to have one.

Here you can see the paintjob I did on two Don Post Helmets. They Are easy to paint and also the shape is quite good:
