99centTaco's First DP

Well, as I post a few days ago I started tring to paint my helmet that I got from Texasfett which is a DP95. Good starter helmet/practice helmet. Well I started a few days ago and posted the starting pic then the progress pic which are the first 2 below. I didn't like it after looking at for awhile and then sanded it all down and started to redo it. I got me an airbrush and compressor and found me some liquid masking and other stuff and heres the progess now. 3rd pic I know its dark b/c my flash isn't working but you can see most of the side. I'll post more later. Any tips welcomed.

May I ask what you picked out for your paint gun and generator ?

That's a good practice piece....:thumbsup

I would say that the RED is too RED, and the Gray is too light...

Try and mix Box Car Red with Rock Island Maroon...and the red should be more accurate then...

Keep in mind that the FLASH of the camera does help to see what the colors will actually look like.....THE best light, always, is sun light...;)

Looking good! I'm working on my DP 95 right now and it is my first project too...I even have mine sitting on that same fan in my room right now AND my next bucket is gonna be a BM! What a coincidink! I'll be posting some progress pics tonight in the "noob questions for DP 95" thread! Keep it up!

hey Mikey I picked up a Iwata Eclipse airbrush gun which was priced at $149.99 but used a 40% hobby lobby internet coupon which they also has a 10% off airbrush supplies so I got it at 50% off, then I picked up a simple Testors mini blue compressor for about $71.00 again using another internet coupon.

Well I know I don't have the exact colors yet, I need to buy some, but heres some updated pics on what I have redid. I think I want another pratice helmet when I'm done with this one
