Yup, another joker costume!

    Yup, another joker costume!

Hey folks, New guy here, been a lurker for a while, I like what I seen so I opted to join up.

I would would like to present to you my (nearly) completed joker costume!

My philosophy in costuming, is to mesh screen accuracy with cost effectiveness whenever possible, sometimes that involves spending a little more than I'd like to, and other times it means settling for a piece that's sub-par.

The costume is made up of various items I either bought or found, and it goes as follows:

    Jacket - Ebay $110

    Vest - Amazon $30

    Shirt - Already had

    Tie - Already had

    Shoes - Already had

    Pants - Amazon $15

    Chain - Already had

    Gloves - Amazon $5

Makeup - Halloween Store $10 total

Lets get to the photos already!

    A few Typical poses:

some detail shots of the makeup and costume:

And just for the fun of it!

    Inaccuracies/ Screw ups

I know how some people like to pick nits, so I figured I'd pick em for you.

    1. The tie is not accurate, but for now, what I have will do, I know there are screen accurate ties on various places around the web, but I'm not willing to pay that much.

    2. The pants aren't yet purple, not for a lack of trying though. I have so far TWICE attempted to dye two different pairs of pants purple, and both times the dye didn't take, so it's an issue I tend to resolve, it's just not done quite yet.

    3. The vest ought to have lapels, but on my budget, it didn't seem practical to spend an outrageous amount of cash on a vest I could do almost as well for a third the price.

4.The Gloves in the movie are purple leather, whereas mine are fabric. I looked around and couldn't find a pair of gloves I liked, the halloween store joker gloves are pretty awful, and any pairs of real leather gloves I found were way too huge, but, I think the ones I have function very well.

    5. The joker in the movie doesn't have a goatee but I do, and I'm avoiding shaving it until I wear my costume to parties and such.

there might be more, but thats the big stuff.

    so, questions, comments, whatever?

I think it looks pretty good, bro. I like the idea of Joker with a Goatee..... very unique. Works better than a batman with a goatee.

    Yeah, no kidding.

At any rate, it looks really cool, But i think you overpayed for the jacket.
If it's the tripps one, then you could have looked for one at Hot Topic first.

well the total is with shipping and all, but yeah, I probably overpaid. Oh well, can't really do anything about that now.
