Why a "no dent" helmet isnt acceptable

*I don’t really have a question here but I thought I would share a thought I had today to get input*
I am almost done reading the book series "The Bounty Hunter Wars"(great read fyi) and in the series it is mentioned numerous times that Boba has a replacement set Mandalorian armor on different worlds he is know to visit and stowed in Slave 1.Case in point on Tatoonie after his recovery from the Sarlacc he put on a replacement suit(not helmet). And after he and Bossk captured the renegade stromtrooper(helmet replaced). From what I understand his color scheme stays the same. This information is form books that "George" approved to be based on a character he created.
The question then came to me was "Why a Boba Fett with a helmet that has no dent in it isn’t acceptable to the 501st ...yet?"
Is it to be understood that all the replacement suits he stowed had helmets with dents in them. From what I have read the membership guidelines mention that the "fett" approval is based on the movies looks. But it seems to be expanding out with the Animated Fett being accepted (I think?) as well other Expanded Universe characters from the books and games.
Could the argument be made if someone wanted to make a "clean looking" or non standard looking Fett that this is Boba right after an encounter as mentioned in one of the many books he is is. Not to mention the different support weapons that are mentioned in the books as well.
I do realize that there has to be a "end" to set some sort of standards so that there are acceptable looks for anyone Trooping as Boba when representing the 501st original intentions of spreading joy to Star Wars fans. And I do understand the the "dent" is what makes Boba.
Please don’t read into this as I am saying there needs to be changes but I just thought it might make for a interesting friendly discussion as to why the "look" of Boba in the books is not accepted. That is if it is not accepted???

In order for a "new" costume to be placed into the Legion, three photos from three different references are needed. Until some LFL approved pictures of a Boba Fett in different armour comes out, it would be impossible to gain membership with it.

yeah, what he said. If they show him that way in the new series, make a figure of it, and then maybe an apperance in a comic or cover or something else of the non-dented armor... then it would work.

They dont allow custom mandos for similar reason. Some people base their armor of discriptions of approved novels as well, but since there isnt any other references for them, then they're kinda outta luck.

No reason NOT to do it if you want to though, You're already a 501st member, so if you wanna do it, do it!

There's an LFL temp out there somewhere looking for an excellent time to release 3 photos of his custom no dent Boba Fett graphics.

So would the Mcquairre concept art of Fett be accepted or even the photos of the "white fett" be accepted, which I think doesnt have a dent in the helmet.Hard to tell in the black and white photos from Star Wars Insider mag.

stormtrooperguy:they have to be from distinct, published works.
a text description in a book won't do it.
Since Jodo in accepted then I take it a Lucas approved graphic novels or "comic books" would count.

I was accepted innto the 501st with my Jaster Mereel, all the reference photos were from Open Season. That being said it to my GML and CO alot of work to get it through. But it can happen, same thing for Jodo Cast. Few things though on mine, because the gauntlets were simplified in the comic, mine had to be as well, and I had to get the color 'just right'. No jet pack, cause Jaster didn't wear one in the books, and I had to mod the helmet to look like his. They did leave a lot to the spirit of the character as well, just wanting little tweeks to make it consistant with Jango style armour.....But again and moreimportant it can be done.
